After breakfast, Jon found himself heading out with Mikey to do something. He wasn't sure what. "So, you get to pick what we're going to do," he reminded Mikey. "But I have veto power."
"Well, I went to the mall yesterday, so...not that. There isn't much to do in this town," Mikey pointed out.
"Well, it's not such much what we're doing..." Jon pointed out. "If we don't think of anything...then we probably could use some groceries."
"That's the most fun you can think of? You are really turning into an old lady," Mikey said.
"I said if we don't have a better idea. But, you said you wanted to feel normal? What is more boring and normal than a trip to the supermarket?"
Mikey sighed, a bit annoyed that his own logic was being used against him.
"I'll get the car keys," Jon said. "Maybe we'll walk around the shops nearby before we go for groceries...something might be interesting."
Jon went to grab the car keys off the hook by the door, and nearly jumped as he turned to see Simon standing there. "You scared me."
"Sorry...I just..." Simon paused. "I'm just not sure what to do right now...I mean, everyone is going out."
Jon paused. "But...why don't you..." he paused. "Oh....well, if you don't have any plans otherwise, and Mikey doesn't mind, we're just going to putter around and get some groceries."
"That sounds great, Mrs....umm..I mean...." Simon stumbled.
Jon looked at him. "Whatever you feel comfortable calling me is fine..." He said.
"It just...I'm feeling a bit left out," Simon admitted.
"Well, it wasn't intentional, but...we'll fix that. You are like one of the family..." Jon said. "I'll be right back, I forgot my phone," he said, hurrying upstairs.
Simon paused. "Wait," he mumbled. "I am one of the family."
