"Don't call me that."
"What? Why not? That's how you're acting...like a timid little..."
Sarah was becoming increasingly flustered by the behavior. She didn't know why Kyla was being so mean. Had the entity surrounding them done something to her? To them? She felt overwhelmed and self-conscious...she didn't remember feeling that way in the past.
She was distracted again by Kyla. "Ugh...what's happening to your face?"
Sarah ran to the mirror. Her formerly flawless skin was breaking out. "It looks like some kind of allergic reaction," she remarked, seeing her face looking a bit puffy, with red spots that almost looked like acne.
The cloud-like entity started to withdraw, flowing under the door. And suddenly, a random woman walked in, totally oblivious as it flowed by her.
Sarah and Kyla exchanged looks. Kyla headed to the door, opened it, and found no resistance. She turned to Sarah. "I'm getting out of here."
"What about that...thing?"
"It's gone," Kyla said, disinterested. "You go worry about it..."
Sarah stood there, mystified. She clutched her forehead for a moment. There was something going on, Kyla seemed apathetic or oblivious...but Sarah would figure it out.
