They followed the concierge to the elevators on the far side of the foyer, and watched as she demonstrated how the use their keycards to access the penthouse level. The lift barely jolted as it began its smooth climb to the 40th floor. When the digital counter displayed their floor, the doors slid open noiselessly straight into their room.
“Holy…” Zoe gasped as the sight of their suite greeted them. The foyer downstairs was nothing compared to the room. There was a huge living room style area, a sizeable dining room, and an indoor hot-tub. In the centre if the room was a spiral staircase leading up to another floor where the bedrooms and bathrooms were located. Almost the whole room was surrounded by windows that looked out onto the rooftop balcony where she could see a small infinity pool and a second hot-tub steaming away.
“This is incredible!” Linda muttered as they stepped into the room.
“The penthouse is our pride and joy,” Sierra beamed, “we’ve never had a guest leave here unhappy with their stay” she added. Zoe turned around and faced the wall with the elevator doors. They were set into one side of the wall, and next to them was another set of double doors.
“What’s in there? She asked.
“That would be the closet and dressing room” Seirra replied happily, “you’ll find everything you need and more inside. I’ll leave you ladies to settle in, dinner is served downstairs from 5pm, or you can order a meal to here should you wish. No extra charge” she added before stepping back into the lift.
“Enjoy your stay at the Eris” she grinned as the doors shut in front of her.
“Come on, let’s choose our rooms” Linda said excitedly, beckoning for Zoe to follow her up the spiral stairs. They made their way up and found that there were four different bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, and all of them were at least twice the size of the master bedroom back home.
“Guess I’ll take this one” Zoe said opening the door to a room with a view of the nearby coastline “not that I’ve got anything to unpack” she grumbled.
“I know it’s frustrating dear” Linda sighed, “what say we both have a nice soak in the baths here, then we can check out the closet and see if there’s anything we can use” she added. Zoe had to admit a soak in the bath sounded pretty good after their nearly full day of travelling. She waited until her mother left her and ran herself a bath in the en-suite connected to her room. Once the large tub was full she stripped off the clothes she’d been travelling in and slipped into the warm water.
“Maybe this won’t be so bad” she sighed to herself as she settled back and relaxed a little. In her own bathroom Linda was just climbing into her own bathtub.
“This is nice” she purred as the warm water enveloped her, “shame about the luggage, but it’ll turn up. Nothings going to keep me from some quality time with my only daughter” she said to herself happily as she laid back and relaxed.
