“If I was and I am not saying I would what would you do for me?” Tina asked unknowingly responding to subliminal programming that she had been given days ago.

“I can arrange for your mother to be returned to you for one thing. All I ask is for you to do is to keep me informed as to what your friend is doing if it is going to cause me any problems. That is all Ms Black. As a sign of good faith, I will give you your real mother’s name if you wish.” The voice told her.

“You can do that?” Tina asked

“Of course I can Ms Black. It's Athena, Athena Black. It is taking us a while, but we're fixing everything, I assure you. But your friend is interfering...making it harder for us to finish. But...I promise you, our workers will put your mother back where she belongs soon enough."

Upstairs, the workmen were nearly done setting up the new Meshida teen. Rorēnu was not quite finished in her transition. She was already starting to look younger, already starting to look Japanese. As the days passed, she would become part of the fabric of the modified reality.

After several days, if Jon had looked at his mother's old yearbook, he would have not found Lorraine Cochran...she had been gone for so long without a replacement, that all traces of her had vanished, except in the boxes they'd kept secured of her things.

Elsewhere, as Lydia entered the warehouse and her things were put away, she was brought into a laboratory. "Once a schoolteacher," the figure standing over her commented, starting work, "such a noble selfless profession. But...none of that going forward."
