"You know, maybe after class, we could get together and try to figure out why people are acting so strange. I was going to meet up with my friend Jon, but you could join us," Karyn said.

"Jon?" Yuki asked, her eyebrow raised.

"Yeah. Jon Gibson."

Now Yuki looked confused. "But ... Jon's my friend." Wasn't he?

Karyn was going to correct her, but stopped when another name flashed in her mind. Sabrina ... yeah, Sabrina Johnson. But ... wasn't she a Goth punk girl? Why would she be friends with her? That girl was obviously no good. At most, she was evil. At least, just a law-breaking miscreant. Either way, she was not someone that Karyn would want to associate with. Unless she was hanging around her to try to save her soul, she supposed. Odd ... something about that last thought didn't sound right, for some reason.

"You're right," Karyn finally said. "I don't know why I thought that Jon was my friend."

Elsewhere and earlier, Sabrina Johnson had dropped her pack of cigarettes when a bunch of people collided into her, but ended up picking up a Bible from the floor afterwards, instead. At first, she thought it was something that didn't belong to her, that she had meant to pick up something else, but that confusion quickly went away. Of course the Bible was hers. She was, after all, a devout Baptist ... right?
