He got out of the car and waited in front of the restaurant, looking around, trying to spot his date. Finally, someone tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around to see a brunette standing there. She seemed way out of his league...gorgeous. "Have you been waiting long?" She asked.
"Umm...no," he said, wondering why she seemed familiar. With all the familial changes, it was making it hard to keep up. Then, it suddenly hit him. _Oh, shit...
The hot girl who used to be his mother smiled at him, oblivious of his current internal turmoil. "Well, then let's go in. I've been looking forward to this all day...although the girls have been teasing me about it."
She waited for him to start moving and followed him. "Teasing?" He asked as he held the door for her.
"Well, you know them...to Rachel, you're....like her brother...And you aren't exactly the sort of person people usually think would ask out Linda McMillan...or...that she'd say yes to."
Jon felt the blood rush to his ears. Mom swapped places with Sarah? "So...why did you?" He asked, curious despite himself.
They went inside and find a table. "What do you mean? Because you aren't some jock like everyone expects me to date? Because you aren't full of yourself?" She said, sliding in opposite him. "You've known me long enough to know I'm not some stereotypical rich girl bitch..." She grinned. "Unless you cross me, that is." Jon paused, unsure of what to make of that, before she burst out laughing. "Your face...for a moment there, I had you..."
Jon exhaled. "Yeah..." It felt like some ice had been broken as Jon kept repeating in his mind... Not my Mom...Not my Mom...
"Rachel is right, you are too easy to fool," she said, leaning a bit closer. She didn't even look for a menu, she was only looking at him, it was forcing him to look into her face rather than look away. It already felt like she was the only one in the room...if anyone else was in the restaurant, he hadn't noticed. "It's kind of cute actually."
He was about to respond when he heard the sound of someone clearing their throat. They both turned and saw a waiter standing there. "Are you ready to order?"
