"John! Man, are you in there?" asked a male voice from the other side of the door.
It was Doug, from work. They must be here to pick me up for going out tonight. John was thinking about how to get out of this, when is phone rang.
"John, I hear your phone in there. It's time to party!"
John got up and went to the door. Doug just stared for a moment when John opened it then said, "who are you?"
John panicked before replying, "Jenny, John's cousin Jenny."
Doug looked the woman up and down for a second before saying, "I can see the resemblance, in the nose. Where's that bastard?"
"I think he's under the weather."
"Could you use a drink?"
"You have no idea, let's go," said John grabbing his wallet, keys and phone and tried to put them into his jean pocked. After a few failed attempted to get the gear into the pockets, he put them into the purse he brought with him and followed Doug to his car. He was about to get his door, when Doug opened it for him. John chuckled after he remembered why Doug as doing that. It was quiet in the car the first several seconds before Doug asked John what "her" favorite drink was. Then the conversation didn't stop. Even with the other guys at the bar, they talked about mixed drinks, sports, music and places they had gone. Doug said multiple times how much they had in common over beers he kept ordering. John and Doug started to play pool, and after a game John suggested they play for something. Doug suggested money, but John suggested the signed baseball Doug had at home. John only had to ante his hoodie, which was lost after a quick game. John tried for the baseball, and Doug asked for the most embarrassing store "Jenny" knew about John. Fortunately, John won that one. It was then that John realized he was cold. Doug offered his flannel, since he "couldn't give the hoodie back." John took the flannel, enjoying that it was already warmed up. John asked for the record signed by Elvis, and Doug asked for John to do whatever he wanted the rest of the night. After a close game, Doug sunk the last ball.
"Well Jenny, looks like you are in for a long night!"
