Mikey, having adopted the pseudonym 'Maddy'... Thanks, Athena, was really enjoying hanging out with Athena and Zelda, and it showed. Mikey's somewhat sour disposition of the last few days evaporated, the same way it had when he'd been having fun with Simon.
The three sat on a bench after wandering around for a bit, watching people walk by.
Athena hated to admit it, because Zoe was a great girl...err..boyfriend, but Mikey fit in better with her and Zelda for just hanging out. When they included girls like Sabrina, Sabrina and Zoe had tended to spend most of the time complaining about things.
"So, when are we going to meet this new boyfriend of yours?" Zelda asked.
"Soon..." Athena promised. "I'm not hiding anyone, just...lot going on in town lately."
"Yeah...I heard a whole bunch of students had some weird stuff happen to them. But no one wants to talk about it..." Zelda said. "Kind of makes everything else boring news."
Mikey looked over at her. "It isn't news," he insisted. "People probably don't want to talk about it because they don't want other people gaping at them like they are some kind of circus act."
"I guess..." Zelda said, not having thought about that before now, but it made sense.
Athena's phone buzzed. It was a text from Zoe. "We're going to be leaving soon, and Mom wants to swing by and pick up Mikey on the way back. Miss you..." Athena smiled at that.
"What?" Maddy said.
"Your ride is coming soon," Athena said.
Mikey grumbled. "They probably want to have another family conversation about me..."
"Those are the worst," Zelda agreed. "People don't see the real you under that outfit...I don't like you hanging out at that club...are there drugs going on there..."
"Well, it was fun while it lasted," Mikey said, getting up.
