"Oh c'mon, it isn't that funny." Jon said, the embarrassment doing a good job distracting him from the stress of the situation he was in.
"No, it's just I was sure one of your wishes would be about Zeta turning down its metal music or something. You have a really bizarre household situation and finding out it wasn't the rock is hilarious... No offense!" He could practically hear her grinning.
'Zaytah?' Its?
"Uh... that is from a wish. This morning. I had a normal family but I wished to see people 'as they are' and they changed. It happens to whoever I so much as glance at. I was hoping you could help me fix or stop this, and maybe we can fix your family situation too after that." Jon hoped this wouldn't upset her again.
"I knew it! Practically no one lives with three Residents, and the rock changing my family, I just knew wishes had to be involved!" Karyn paused and seemed to realize Jon's situation, "I mean, sorry, you must panicking. Uh, wish that you have ability blocking goggles or something. Glasses would be normal, I guess. You could try to ground the wish by using the rock on an object you already have, so it doesn't make something wholesale and run amok again. Oh! And do it with me on the phone so I'm aware."
'Residents'? If these things were normal now, did other people get transformed into them already to normalize them?
"Karyn, I think the stone's range is getting bigger the more wishes we make. I really don't want it used again. What if it builds up too much momentum or, something?"
"Wish momentum?"
"It could be real! You don't know!" Jon was beginning to feel a little silly.
