"Mind your fucking business," he said, turning away from her.
"Interesting," Zoe said. "I wonder if the hostility is a side effect."
Finally, someone entered and walked to the front of the room, and placed a satchel on the teacher's desk before turning around to address them all. "Quiet, everyone," they said. "Now, all of us experienced...whatever happened. You heard the announcement. Is anyone hurt and needs to go to the nurse?" No one spoke up. "Good. Now, just everyone talk amongst themselves until we get additional instructions."
The room started Zoe turned to Sarah. "When I first got up...for a moment there, I felt as if...I'd been..doing something else. Everything is still a bit fuzzy."
"I felt funny too," Sarah said. "But...then we both made the same Trek reference, and..."
"...at the the same time," Sarah and Zoe both again in unison. They began to laugh.
"That's when I suddenly realized you're my friend," Sarah said. "Maybe we just all got the wind knocked out of us or something."
Zoe thought about it. Something definitely got knocked out of everyone, but mass events like whatever this was didn't just happen for no reason. "I think I'm feeling more like myself and things are becoming clearer than they were when we got up, but...I have this weird feeling everything is still off somehow."
