Even if I was discovered, I still had the element of surprise. They had no clue what I was planning. "Are you 3 part of Wind Clan? They manage the transmission hub." I asked them. Maybe they could just take me over there so the secret plan could be aborted. The PEA unit in the middle shook his head. "Clans manage their PEA units when they are able to operate a PEA Lab. If none exist in the region, we are taken directly under the command of the transmission hub. As Wind Clan has not opened up a lab, we are not part of Wind Clan." he explained. Basically, Wind Clan used the money we gave them for other things. All the PEA units in the area were essentially free agents doing the express bidding of the transmission hub. This could work out in my favor. "I was thinking that having a nice branch of the clan could be a good thing. If I could get you 3 into the team I'm gathering, I'm sure we would have a PEA lab up and running in no time. The one in the middle said "Thanks, but no thanks. I don't have the time to play around with humans." He then left. The other PEAs were still here.

PEA Units

I would probably have to bribe them. They were naturally born, but they were still cyborgs. They had a direct connection to the transmission hubs and took missions from it when available. If one already left, that probably meant that the mission the 3 were on had finished. "Having your own clan is great. You get to design new armor gear and weapons. You also get a nice lounge to relax. You can also train skills you want to specialize in." I pitched to them. Both were interested. "When the gym opens up, we can go in and meet the rest of the crew." I said. They nodded their heads. We were going to wait for a few hours. Eventually, we were joined by a PEP unit. He came up to the front door 5 minutes before the doors were opened. We went inside to get out of the dark. The PEP unit took his duffel bag to the locker rooms. He then began to use the treadmill. Ramon and Mateo came an hour later than that. They were 15 minutes early for the meeting. They saw me and approached. Others had came in for exercise. "Did you speak to Joe?" Ramon asked me. I pointed over at the treadmill.

Only one person could possibly be Joe. "That him?" I asked. Both brothers nodded their heads. "No. Not yet. I have more people for the crew coming in, so I thought that could wait until then." I said. Mateo asked "Wait a minute. How could you tell that without speaking to him? He might be clumsy, but there's no way you got into the same locker room as him while he was changing." I smiled and said "Don't worry about that stuff. I have an eye for all this." There was no need to get into the murky details. If I did, it could get really rough for the NPCs. Fabien came in right on time. It was time for all of us to go see what this "Gym bro Joe" was all about. We approached him with no hesitation and asked to speak with him privately for a moment. He looked at all us for a moment in confusion. There were both cyborgs and humans requesting his time. "I guess we can talk. I have to get back to my workout though." That was cool with me. It should not take more than half an hour to get this door. Once we left a side door, we were outside in an alleyway. "Joe, I have a big job for you." I opened.
