I rolled my eyes at that display. We were not here to kill him. We won the fight, so he was ours now. That was their deal. I looked at the head librarian who was still in full shock. I snapped my fingers at her to get her attention. "Call the match already. 12-001 is done. Unless you think it should continue." I said. She nodded her head. "Their duel is over. The winner of this fight is... Paulie Kaiserman." she announced. That made me blink. I did not think that I had ever heard his in-game name before this. That was really weird to me. "Well, a deal is a deal. 12-001 is coming with us now." Brett walked over to the downed AEP unit. "How long is he going to take like that!? I don't want to carry him in a wheel barrel." he said as he prodded the nanite paste mound with his left foot. I sighed as I walked over. I placed down an energy generator and turned in on. A 30 foot radius from the machine lit up in a golden glow. I saw as both 12-001 and 12-002 were affected by it. 12-001 was able to come online quicker and move. 12-002 felt more relaxed now, even though he was in a really stressful position.

The fight was over. There was nothing either AEP unit could do about it. Paul grabbed 12-001 by the arm and roughly dragged him over to Frederica. She still looked like she could barely believe it. "Say sorry for killing her men and breaking all that shit!" Paul ordered. 12-001 was defiant. "I'll never apologize to a filthy human! You should be apologizing to me!" he spat. Paul slapped him hard across the face and glared at him. It was clear that they were not going to ever get along. Paul was fine with that. I was too. He would always win any fight. "You're only making things way harder for yourself. Say sorry." The prideful AEP unit only glared back at him. "Never!" 12-001 shouted. 12-002 cheered him on. "Yeah! Don't give into a dirty human! He had to have cheated somehow!" he added. Seeing enough of this, I turned to Frederica. "Time is ticking on that contract. We could have done this at any time." She narrowed her eyes at me. "Then why didn't you?" I shrugged my shoulders and said "And risk all 6 of the Conqueror hubs sending all their units at us? You saw what 1 could do. No way."

Frederica certainly did not want that happening on her watch. She gestured for me to continue. "We killed 2 of the Conqueror AEP units of other clans for trespassing on our territory. That was why Magnetic Clan uses the PEP units embedded in the local police force to get at us. Now that we won, we have one of Magnetic Clans 2 AEP units held hostage. We've always been independent, now we are actively taking hostile steps against them. It won't be long before they do more crazy shit to get to us." I explained. "And why does that have anything to do with the contract?" one of her companions asked. I smirked. "Because we could have done this at any time. But doing something like this would possibly start a mutiny in our clan. If they go to war with us or our vassals, we'll be the ones defending ourselves. If we have to win a full on war without you, then what good are you?" "What's that supposed to mean!?" the other companion demanded. Brett spoke up. "It's simple. If we take out the Magnetic Clan transmission hub without you, you'll get no new deals with us." he told them. Why not?
