"So...have some fun. I'm sure there's still some food left," Laura suggested.
"We'll talk after?"
"Sure."
Simon went over to Biff and Ethan, wondering what he was doing. He'd wanted to talk about the situation, not talk to some strangers, even ones in the same boat as him. So, why was he even doing what Mrs. Gibson asked him to do?
"That's a cute outfit," Ethan said.
Simon suddenly thought it might not be so bad talking to these two. "I just bought it. The clothes I inherited, just weren't me. There's a shop at the mall..." Simon said.
"Inherited...you mean the stuff that fits you at home?" Biff asked. "I mean...the stuff in the closet fits me...but..."
"You want your own style, right?" Simon said.
"Yeah," Biff agreed.
"It's like...I like this outfit...but I wouldn't have picked it, you know?" Ethan said.
Across the way, Zoe turned to see Simon talking to two similarly transformed individuals. If you knew what you were looking for, despite the fact they looked more feminine, it was clear they hadn't been that way previously. Zoe recognized Biff Meadows, who had picked up a lot of his former girlfriend's build. She wasn't sure who the other one was.
"Zoe, did you hear me?"
Zoe blinked, turning back to Jon. "What?"
"I asked why you are hanging around with me, when there are people your own age around," Jon said.
"I guess...wait..." Zoe said, remembering what she kept getting distracted about. "I think we shouldn't all be here," she said.
"What? Why?" Jon asked.
"You just said people my own age...we're nearly the same age."
The statement seemed to have an effect on Jon, causing him to think. "You might be right. Sarah and I were just getting along so well, and I was feeling...normal for the first time since this started."
"But...do you remember how she treated us before?"
"Well, she's different too now. We're all in the same boat."
Zoe paused. "I just don't want to forget what is going on."
"You aren't...I didn't forget so much as...just put it aside for a bit," Jon said.
