I got my rifle and he smirked. I began shooting him, but he took no damage. "That won't work now. I'm 12-001. My organ makes me immune to all metal. Your bullets are totally useless against me." That buff made some sense to me. He came from the two magnetic X-frames. "Why were you running from us earlier, then!?" I asked as I put my gun down. The AEP unit looked a bit flustered. "W-well it was my first time fighting enemies. I w-was just playing with you!" he snapped. I could tell that he simply forgot that he could do it. I would have to make sure our own AEP units were well managed. I did not want them to derp out in crucial situations. This meant that he could just repel all of the bullets I shot at him. Even the sword I had buried away in my personal inventory was not going to cut it, pun intended. I still had hand to hand combat and my holy magic. Those had no metal to get repelled by his body. When pillars of fire rained down on him from the skies, he was surprised and startled. I got in melee range and began to punch and kick the AEP. I was going to kill him when he gave it up.
Surrender worked. There was a lot we could learn from his body. We also had a legitimate excuse. I carried him from the street and into the studio on my back. It looked like really suspicious activity was going on to most people, but the cops were not going to bother me. They were all dead. I made my way with the captured cyborg to the apartment Hunter made his lab. I was able to take the AEP unit to the back room and move through the hallway to the lab. I opened the door and placed the knocked out cyborg into the chair in the middle of the lab. Hunter was already there with me when he saw me get in the elevator. So did Brett and Paul. He was talking to himself as we came in, but now the attention was all on me. After I made sure that 12-001 was very secure in the chair, I turned to the others. I explained everything that happened in my own words. "We are now at war. This transmission hub wants all the humans in clans dead. That's us. What do we do!?" I asked them. They looked at me. I waited a beat before pointing at the AEP unit. "I say we hack into him and get info." I proposed.
Very likely, what the magnetic AEP unit said was true. It was up to us to find out. I looked on his chest for the port that they used to communicate with the transmission hub. It was on his right pectoral. It was covered by a panel that I had to pry open. Once it was opened, I connected a cord to Hunter's computer. I told him to look around and see what he could find. "Try to see if you can get any info on his messages from the hub. That could be a start in finding out the truth." I ordered the PEP units just standing around to remove any stray pieces of metal that he could use to free himself or attack Hunter. They struggled to their feet and looked around. They all were still tipsy. I had to point out a plate with a steak knife on the table next to the computer. Hunter just gave us a nervous smile and said "Cyrus and the others are great cooks. I have been taking my dinners in here for the last few days while I eat." That was totally fine. I did not make it a habit to eat during the game. Cody picked up those plates and the knife and stumbled out the door. Daniel walked in and looked at me and Hunter.
