The augments that they had all were made and installable from their clan labs. I, as their clan technician, would be able to track and create them. Their many augments could range from blades, lazers and guns as weapons to wings and wheels for mobility. All the AEPs had pink hair and silver eyes. It was actually a pretty cool concept. I was getting excited. They were much more machine than human, but they had biological metabolisms that severed them from the need to charge. They had one major flaw. They all had a big noticeable port on their chests and needed to connect to the internet to access the transmission hubs. Honestly, that was pretty bad. Even the lowly PEP units were automatically connected to the transmission hubs. The PEA units were told what their missions were from their clan's PEP units. Watching them all waddle around and get used to having legs was pretty cute in my opinion. The PEP and PEA units present looked totally enraptured. We were going to be really powerful going forward. They made them using their X-frames. It made all of them giddy and proud.

Quite frankly, they should be proud of themselves for accomplishing this. Each and every one of them started out on the streets trying their best to scrape by. Dodging all of those scrappers, reprogrammers, and the government was really hard to do when you had the disadvantages that PEP units had. They had their charge ports visible on their bodies. Salt water was dangerous to them. Sugar water made them drunk and act a fool. It was a desperate starting position. All the older models looked down on them for their lesser quality. In order to survive as a PEP unit reliably, you needed 3 things. Those were good clothes housing and electricity. Good clothes would cover up the charge port and not single you out as a poor bum ready to be taken advantage of. Even homeless humans had it rough after all. If you had a nice place to stay, you were not roaming the streets. That lessened the chances of being randomly snatched off of a street corner and stuffed into a van. In order to charge up they all needed to plug themselves in using the charge port. There were portable ones for outlets.

Since they were prototypes, there were to be some flaws to be expected. It would change when they unlocked their own sexual upgrades, they would have offspring that would be the AEA units. Looking at them, they had no external genitals. It was behind a genital slit. They had an anus because they needed to eat and expel waste. That was fine, I guess. While they had biometal on their limbs and jaw, they could add more plating by "flexing". If a unit got startled, agitated, or aggressive, they would add plating to their chests, legs and backs. Otherwise, they were very smooth and soft to the touch. All of them had a special internal organ that allowed them to use the type of affinity they were made from. Our clan had water, electric, and sonic X-frames. The AEP units had organs that allowed them to use those elements in special ways. It was amazing watching them in action. Their fathers were all XF-05M models. The Water organ allowed them to deploy a pressurized hose. They could spray gallons of water on your from different places on the bodies. The mothers were also pretty great too.
