Seemingly, the hunch I had was correct. There was a cooldown for the mission we did. Multiple Players could influence the direction of the world. Of the few Players on this server, it was split down the middle who to support. It was about 43% for the PEP units and 45% against them. The others just were using the cyberpunk setting of the world to play around. Whether by being doctors, athletes or treating the world as a personal dating simulator. We had a spot in place for all the high ranking cyborgs to meet for the so called "Next Stage". There were also back up plans. We had up to a Plan H. That meant 8 possible places. They were placed in order of the mission completion. I was not shocked that my area was the primary location. It was also the most guarded secret. The Players on the other side were doing everything they could to stop the mission to be completed. All you needed for the questline was to find 5 PEP units that allied with the Libra Force syndicate. Once there were either less than 5 PEP units that fit that criteria or after a full real world week, their mission would end.
This part was for us to play on the defensive. Next week was for us to go on the attack. Now we had to stop the Players against the PEP units from finding out all of their locations. That would of course mean protecting PEP units from the various government agents and rouge reprogrammers. While any PEP unit could give clues to the locations, those in Libra Force could spill what the "Next Stage" was if captured by a hacker of at least 20. Phobia was a syndicate that was the main antagonistic force against Libra Force. You could kill all of their guys and make sure the Libra Force PEP units went into hiding. You could also go to the main cities and assassinate all the agents and high leveled reprogrammers. Paul and Brett did not care about the search and rescue mission. Now that they were aware of the importance of this part of the questline, they were going to do that. What was the point of being Devils if they could not flex their power once in a while. It was no skin off my back to take it easy. We all had to lay low anyway. The girl snitched, but she had no clue what she saw before dying.
It was inevitable that she would be silenced. Keeping her alive would be too risky. All of us did what was recommended. We stayed low except for releasing some music from our talents. Brett and Paul were making a mess of both Neo-Rutten and Volta Cities with reckless abandon. Destroying the members of Phobia and disrupting all of reprogrammers trying to stop our allies. The androids wanted me to come down to the station for questioning. As it stood, I was a major person of interest. The Phobia members and I were the ones to see the initial conflict. Both the PEP unit and the girl were dead. I was the only one that the PEP unit told about why he was chasing her down the street. It was therefore easy for me to keep it secret. I was sat in a large interrogation room for an hour before Uno came into the room. I smiled as he stood on the other side of the table from me. "Hello Uno. How was the repair time!?" He looked at me and said "As a public servant like me needs to be in top condition to protect humanity." We ended up doing small talk for over an hour. The PEP mayor sprung me again.
