Dante and I got a bit closer as a result. He wanted to be a mob doctor. That meant that we went on several jobs together after he came back from school. He had all the skills to do a decent job. All he needed were the proper patients. They had to be in town and connected to our gang. Random people did not count. They did help raise his proficiency level though. 10 successful missions meant his rating went up by half a star. Still, that was not going to be an everyday thing. We ran a tight ship and we did not make mistakes very often. Injuries were rare for us. Illness was slightly more common. A whore coming down with an STD was not unheard of. We had to take all of that under consideration when we opened the brothels. We were not cruel or unfeeling. Taking care of them when they entered our employ was something that I made clear to all the people on the staff. Luckily, we had former whores running the brothels here. Cameron, Tommy and Ronan were all very in tune with what was needed to make the brothel work. They also made sure it was massive success. I was grateful.
Marco was very busy. Doing lots of work, both in and out of his home, seemed to make him very tired. He still on his 8th mission. He needed to find 2 other jobs to do for our gang before he could be a made man. That was something that he really wanted to achieve. It would be much easier on him if he just wanted to go to school and go straight, pun not intended. Speaking on that however, Marco wanted to make things better in his relationship. I was still not totally convinced that their relationship would work out in the end. He needed to split his time between trying to do jobs and hanging out and dating his boyfriend. Rocco was dating Annita. He was able to give time to his new relationship due to the fact he was already done with his quota. Carlo was doing just fine. He was also done with his missions. Trying to do both while also going to school was pretty tough. I could not do anything to help as I was still kept in the house. As it currently stood, I was not able to leave without making Daphne freak out. I doubted she would like to see Carlo, Rocco or Marco either. It might be hard on her.
Eventually, Daphne granted me a slightly longer leash and allowed me to actually work from my office on most days. Luckily, I was the lieutenant. If I wanted to talk to my sons, I could summon them to my office via phone call. It was not possible for Daphne to check those calls. She was not part of the gang. Frankly, she did not want to be in the gang either. It was a landline. That meant you needed to check the call log manually at the phone itself. My sons were free to come and visit at any time. Bianca was the mother of Carlo. They could come together if she wanted to see me about something. I was still paying for their suites at the hotel. Daphne had no say in how I spent my money. She was also spending lots of cash at her own discretion. Money I willingly gave her whenever she asked. And that was on top of the weekly amounts I gave all 3 of the mothers of my children. In that aspect, she got more money than Bella and Bianca combined. Carlo, Rocco and Marco were very happy to regain their access to me. I pulled them all in a hug and ruffled their hair. They enjoyed attention.
