Watching as the deadly necrotic energy coursed through the man's veins was a bit surreal. His entire body seemed to shrivel up and blacken. He fell back and died with his eyes locked in a horrified gaze. I did not feel sorry for him at all. Chat looked at me and frowned. "I could have handled it myself." he said pouting. I just walked over to him and casted Prestidigitation on us. That cleaned up all the blood and dirt from our bodies. Casting a simple Mending fixed Chat's clothes. After that, I pat Chat on the head. "I don't need a reason, as a father, to stick up for my kids when I see them in danger." I said gently. He let himself indulge in the affection. "Am I stronger than the others?" he asked. I continued ruffling his hair as I thought about what to say about it. "Lapin is a bit wiser than you. But you might be stronger. I'd have to see Chien and Poisson in a similar situation to make a honest call on that." Chat did not like that. "How is that possible!? Lapin is a coward! He left me here alone." he snapped. I chuckled and said "He knew that paladins were enemies to be wary of. That is wiser."

Showing him the error of his ways was important. "There is something to be said about bravery. Discretion is the better part of valor here. You actually don't have to fight everyone that challenges you." I told him. Chat sighed and said "I guess." He did not like having to admit that he was in a bit of a pinch until I bailed him out. It would only help him in the long run. I did not want to lose my children to stupid fights. "You guys are going to be really strong one day. You just need to focus on learning at school and having fun. I'll be doing most of the heavy lifting. All 8 of you have a really big part to play." That also rankled him for some reason. "You already have the best right here. The half breeds can't compare to any of us!" he hissed. I looked at him sternly for a bit. Chat looked at me defiantly. "It's not nice to say that about your brothers. All of you are great in your own ways." He challenged me to name the great qualities Rolfe, Abel, Aleyn and Rolant possessed. That was very easy for me. They were cute, funny, able to blend in easier with society and they all had cool abilities. Chat pouted.

Knowing Chat, I put my hands firmly on both of his shoulders and squeezed hard. He flinched at me doing so. I leaned in so my forehead was touching his. "Chat, I hope you know that I love you just as much as them. If they get hurt either directly or indirectly because of you, I will punish you severely. Don't let jealousy get in the way of having a good time with everyone. Do you understand me?" I said carefully. It was clear that Chat was really intimidated. He just nodded his head furiously. I let him go and smiled. Chat took a step back. "Because you did manage to beat that paladin all on your own, I will reward you with a party. Name something that you want. I will do my best to give it to you." He had to think about it. "I want... a personal fuck toy. Someone that is mine and mine alone." I could definitely give him one. That was actually a very easy request. "If that is really what you want, Chat, I will give you one." I assured him. All I would need to do was summon an elemental and just let Chat claim it as his. It was a simple task that might not take more than an afternoon to prepare for.
