People could endure hardship. The Wreck family attended the weddings. It was a nice affair and we had a lot of fun looking at all the pretty and rich people. I had to keep a tight leash on my kids. Having them fuck the nobles might have implications that we would not be able to deal with. The first wedding was for our Gabriel and the very lovely Ms. Loys. Xander was currently unmarried himself. Apparently, his wife had died in childbirth. She was his childhood sweetheart. Xander already had a trio of very healthy sons. He did not need to get remarried. The same for me. I had 8 children now. All of the boys were able to charm people into marrying them at will. It would not work long term, but they were young and in school. Having multiple dating partner was normal. There was nothing that I had to prove to anyone. When the full ceremony was over, I saw people were mingling while we waited for the after party. It was going to take place in the manor. It was a bit shabby, but it was good enough to work for a non-noble now. There would need to be major renovations before Ansell got married.
Lapin and Chat were bantering amongst themselves when a pair of older men went to them. I cursed under my breath. I had gathered up my household around me so I knew that they would behave. I let the incubi and their wives manage the others for this event. It seemed as though they did not get the message. Lapin and Chat looked them up and down before walking off with them. I looked at Rolfe, Abel, Aleyn and Rolant. "Go find Poisson and Chien. I'm going to make sure that Chat and Lapin are okay." They nodded and went to do as they were bid. I went through the crowd and followed where they were going. All of them left the venue and went into the untamed areas of the forest that bordered the town. I hid behind a large tree to listen to them talk when they stopped. The older men were paladins and guards for Besseta. They could not only sense that Lapin and Chat were evil, they also were fiends. The kids tried to play dumb, but it did not work. It was not something the men could tolerate in their world. "We'll purge you now before you can touch our mistress!" one of them said.
That was all the warning that they felt they needed to give before attacking. Lapin was actually a bit of a coward. He immediately reverted to his true form and flew off. If I was Chat, I would be pissed off for abandoning him to the wolves. Chat was built differently though. He wanted to fight both of them. I decided to see if he could handle it. If he could, he would be rewarded. If not, I could step in and rescue him. I watched as Chat attempted to charm one of them. That did not work. Both of them were too powerful for Chat to take hold of their minds. "You're just a stupid whelp. You should have run like your friend there." Chat hissed and tried to claw at them. The paladins did not have any compulsions drawing their weapons and attacking him. Chat might have been able to handle himself in a one on one fight, but the numbers game was catching up to him. I stepped from behind the tree with my dagger and casted Steel Wind Strike. It cut one of the paladins to pieces. The other one was shocked to see me. That gave Chat an opportunity to kiss him. Incubi kisses caused real big damage.
