Xander sent me a special invitation. He had found a noble family willing to ally with him. Ansell was going to be married off matrilineally to some minor noblewoman from the duchy of Yatus. She was the niece of one of the many counts there. He would be part of their family. Ansell's children would be of her lineage. The upside for Xander was that once they were married, she would take residence in Krepia. The Donem family would them help advance Ansell as a count. Because the title was hereditary, the Donem Family would be able to take a foot hold in Krepia. The same was the same for the eldest daughter of a trading house in Mara. Marrying Gabriel to her would allow Xander to get financial backing in his plans to become a duke. Gabriel was Xander's heir so it was important that he keep his family name. Due to this, he was only able to convince a third rate trading house. It was still miles above anything that Krepia could produce. Ansell marriage was set in stone. Lord Xander wanted a loan from me to pay for it. While they did do their bride price, this was now a matrilineal marriage.
Here, Ansell was the bride at the wedding. Juliana Donem was the husband. The trading house had given the Embereyes a very nice sum for their daughter. Once he had saw the initial offer, Xander nearly shit himself. He then asked them for slightly more lin. It was quickly accepted. When Ms. Besseta Loys got here, they could make young Gabriel a new count right away. With enough counts in the family managing the realm, there was no reason why the Embereyes would not be at the top of the list for a promotion. Xander would probably be in his rights to request an audience with the king to have the duchy granted to him. I made sure to give all the loaned money to him in person. "Thank for your service, Wraxix. This will not be forgotten." he said as he counted it all. I just nodded my head. "You are welcome. I cannot wait until the noble Embereye Family takes its rightful place as dukes of this land." I said before leaving. Once they were appointed as duke, I could make myself count. I could make all the incubi in my coven counts if I wanted. Hell, I could make myself their duke now.
Infiltrating the royal palace and getting within range to charm their king would be a major challenge. All of the strongest knights and clerics would be there to protect their monarch. That mission would be high risk and high reward. I would be hunted along with every single member of my coven. My family would not be spared if we were ever caught. Speaking of them, it had been a while since I had checked in. I called Vohrear up on the phone right away. He answered in 2 rings. He told me that things were doing fine. He was not happy with Xavier and his mother getting in his way of forcing the humans to keep out by mistreating them. Vohrear did not say all of that explicitly, but I knew him well enough to know that that was his intention. "The humans are fine members of the coven. If they displease you so much, you could always send them here. I will keep an eye on them." I smirked when I heard him hit the wall in frustration. "It's fine, Wraxix. They are mine to manage, so I will." he said through gritted teeth. He wanted to expel them, not transfer them. That was tough shit on him.
