(Author's Note: This branch is meant to put Jennifer Taylor as front and center of a story)
Jennifer Taylor was one of the Taylor Twins. Much as she loved her sister Sarah, it wasn't an easy thing to be a twin. She and her sister were attractive blond, with somewhat different personalities. She was outgoing, and into theater and band. Her sister Sarah was more introverted and serious, and more focused on her studies.
While Jennifer was outgoing and attractive, her romantic history was somewhat mixed. Plenty of boys wanted to fool around with her, some were looking to fool around with both her and her sister Sarah, and she just hadn't found anything that might turn into something serious. Jennifer was, however, on part with her love of theater...a romantic who loved a good romantic movie...and part of her was always hoping for a Meet Cute, or a magical whirlwind romance, or even just someone who shared her interests and was interested in her.
When she wasn't hanging out with her friends, or her sister, she indulged in her guilty passion for those sorts of movies, something her sister Sarah didn't quite understand. "It's so formulaic," her sister insisted as she spotted Jennifer curling up in the den for another sitting. "I mean...it's like they gave the same plot to a bunch of different writers." Sarah was referring to the Hearth Network, her sister's source for her guilty passion , a channel, a spinoff movie only channel, and a streaming service known for producing and airing an endless collection of family and romantic movies, often staring former child actors or actors who were popular when their demographic was younger. Often the same actors repeatedly, as they were under contract to Hearth Studios and had built up a catalog. It wasn't a bad gig for actors who had some name recognition, but were no longer, or had never reached A-list status. There were also some actors who had made their name solely among Hearth enthusiasts.
"How are you supposed to avoid Boy Meets Girl and they fall in love in a romance movie? Besides, there are genre rules. That sort of things dates back to Shakespeare," the theater buff told her sister.
"They aren't rules...they are tropes," Sarah said.
"Fine, maybe it isn't absolutely realistic...but I like it. And...it's nice to believe there is something more out there sometimes than a boy who wants me to come over and bring my sister for a three-way," Jennifer said, looking disgusted at the thought.
Sarah's expression was equally sour. "What is it with boys and the idea of dating twins? I suppose everyone has a right to a fantasy...but they act like they think we come as a package."
Jennifer nodded in agreement.
"Well, I have to practice for debate tomorrow," Sarah said. "Have fun with the movies..."
Her sister nodded. Her friends were all busy this evening. She didn't have anything planned outside of school till Saturday, and the week just started. She'd seen plenty of her friends during the spring break that just ended. And they wouldn't start planning the spring school production this year at least next week. Little did she know, as she turned back to the TV, that a wish made by a boy at school she barely knew was going to make her...essentially an extra in the story of Lake Point High School...something more. As Jennifer herself might analogize...perhaps a featured player or even a leading lady...The possibilities were endless...
