I asked them what would it take to build a temple to Bilios. Their eyes went wide. They did not know for sure, but they could send us to a priest that would know. Since we had all day, we could run this down. This was the start of a quest. We had to go to the other end of the city. That was where the priest and the other acolytes lived. All of them were mendicant preachers. That meant that they got through to the next day by begging for what they needed to survive. There were 6 of them in that one run down house. It was the only place they could afford apparently. That was the trouble of serving and extremely minor god. You did not have much of an institution to back you up. Speaking to the head priest, I learned what I needed. It was essentially the same as getting the club off the ground. Only I had to get a blessed altar and have the temple consecrated at the end. It would not be too hard. Our business was booming and bringing in lots of money. All we would need to do was save up a bit. After a bit more exploration, we met Xavier at the hotel. He was totally ready to go to the Mage's Guild.

We were also ready. All of us incubi had our spell books ready. Walking over to the Mage's Guild was a bit nerve wracking. I kept it all to myself though. I did not want to negatively influence anyone else. We got to the brick building. It was in the downtown area of the city. Once we entered, we saw the receptionist at her desk wave all of us over to her. We better than to wait until later to arrive. It was not just for her. We would need to wait for the long line to finish. Now, we were bale to tell her what we wanted. She gave us tickets and told us to wait in their lobby. There were several rows of chairs waiting. We only waited 10 minutes before a man came down. "I'm here to proctor the exam." He said. I jumped up and said "That's what we're here for." He nodded and led us upstairs. We were then each given a written 10 question quiz. It was pretty easy for me. I hoped the others were taking it seriously. I gave in my quiz when I was done with it. He took it and I sat back down to wait for the others. It took them another 4 minutes. It was time for a practical exam. We had to show 2 spells of 2nd level.

Doing that would be too easy. Instead, I did Crown of Stars and Forcecage. Both were 7th level spells. They were impressed. All the incubi did Immolation and Dawn. It was pretty flashy. Xavier then gave his demonstration of Scorching Ray and Blindness. Going after us, it was pretty underwhelming. We all passed the practical exam. I got 8 out of 10 questions wrong. Xavier got them all right. Nyrear had a 7. Grulilan, Zaranarax and Vohrear all got 9. We were told to wait 2 days for our memberships to the guild to be processed. Then we could pick them all up. Being part of the Mage's Guild gave us certain perks. We had a right to practice magic in public now. Our membership was transferable to the Adventurer's Guild, so we could instantly join and start forming parties. There was a subscription fee where you would get news every so often about the members of the guild and what activities or places may be of interest every in-game week. The guild also protected their own. If you were falsely imprisoned, the guild would send you a lawyer. That was top quality service. I could soon use it.
