Luckily, Emilio had a solution for us. After a week of focus and rigorous assessment of her health, he was able to find a remedy to her illness. She was on the mend and I heard that the lieutenant was really grateful to him. So grateful that he was considering making Emilio an associate. That was great. If he became part of the Devil Crew, they could help us out with the Electric Fangs. If we were under their umbrella, they would have to stop or get in a gang war with all of us. That should make them think twice before attacking. Due to the amazing turn around, his mother was going to be cooking a meal to celebrate her recovery with her family. Emilio was invited and was allowed to take 2 guests with him. Emilio had already made the decision to take me and Nicolò along. The day before, we went shopping for outfits to wear. We wanted to impress them. We certainly had the money for it. Nicolò looked at me before wringing his hands. "Remember to not do anything gay over there." he said, fussing as he looked me over. I just looked at him. "When have I randomly done something gay?" I asked.
Neither Emilio nor Nicolò could answer that question. I did not do anything gay. I have not flirted with anyone here. I did not use the services of any brothels. They looked at each other, hoping to find an answer in the other's response. Emilio just frowned and crossed his arms. "Are you even gay!?" he snapped. I raised my eyebrow. "...Half gay." he clarified again. "Well, I am bisexual. I just don't get into sex stuff with you because you guys are both being big babies about it." I said. That comment made them both angry. "What's being a baby about not wanting to hear about you taking it up the ass!?" Nicolò spat. "You don't know that though. Once again, I've never told you what I do in bed. You 2 are just putting all of the negative shit you heard on the streets onto me. You say we're friends, but the fact you haven't even asked me about it kindly speaks volumes." That seemed to get through to the more sensitive Emilio. "I'm sorry about that, Mar. But... if you are only half gay, can't you just stop doing it?" I shrugged. "It doesn't work that way. You cannot stop liking multiple types of women." I said.
Just that made Emilio fall quiet. Nicolò was not convinced yet. "Just because I like all types of women doesn't mean I'm going to be with all of them." he said. We looked at him. He smirked. "When I settle down, it's going to be with a nice girl. One that will keep our kids pure so that they can be in the family as well." That was a plan. You had to be of the proper ethnicity to be part of the mob family, but there were people of mixed descent. In those cases, it was generally a matrilineal tie that counted. If your mom was the proper ethnicity, you were good. If not, your father better be a made gangster or above. Even then you would probably be looked down on compared to those that were pure blooded. I sighed. He had me there. "Fine. I won't do anything crazy at the party. You don't have to worry about that. Stop bringing it up. It annoys me." He nodded his head. Nicolò still was my friend and comrade, he just was a kid that did not know how to get it across. I would have dropped him if I did not already know that. Once we paid for the new outfits, we had to bring something for their table: wine.
