Emilio worked earnestly. He really did not have to worry too much about it. He was a 5 star doctor. Anything to do with medicine was an almost guaranteed success. He was also an experienced fighter. It was therefore my job to hold down the fort while he was away on business. I made the rounds. Now that we were officially in conflict with the Electric Fangs, I had to keep an eye out for them and their rackets. Conflict could flare up at any moment. I did not want to lose anything until we could figure out if Emilio could be a made gangster. There were some places in the Red Light district that they owned. They had a couple of brothels, a speakeasy, a drug den and a big drug lab. If I wanted to, I bet I could take out at least one of them by myself. That would be a giant hassle. There would definitely be a retaliation from them. It would be a shame if our people died for some random bullshit. For that reason, it was simply much better to get a truce. You could do that by getting a sit down with them. I had contacts now in the city. Especially in the Red Light district. Miracle and Brandon set it all up.

Since this was so important, I made sure that Emilio would be right outside. This was a 1 on 1 meeting. We were going to talk candidly. Hopefully, we could come to an agreement. I got to meet with a lieutenant of theirs. Their kingpin was not in this city, so they did not feel the need to involve him. That was okay with me. I did not need to talk to him. I just had to stop the upcoming gang war with a major faction that could outnumber us 1233 to 1. The place we were meeting was the lieutenant's own safehouse. He had a guard detail in order to protect him. I was not planning on trying anything funny here. We were sitting across from each other. He gestured for me to speak first in this encounter. "Let's cut to the chase. I want all of you to stop sending goons after us." I said plainly. He leaned forward in his seat with a smug grin on his face. "What are you going to give us in return?" he asked. I just looked at him. "How about we give you some of our nice booze? It's pretty good." I offered. The man just looked at me. "We do not want any of your shitty booze. You can't even afford to truck it out."

He was mocking me because I cut corners in the delivery aspect. The speakeasy was only a block away from the brewery. I could fix that, but I did not really see the big deal. There were other things that I could do with all our money. We could buy new rackets for example. There were still empty properties in the city for sale. He made a counter offer. If we gave over the speakeasy to him, he would have his men back off. It was a laughable proposal in my opinion. There was no way they were going to be able to beat us. Nothing was settled from the meeting, so I was kicked out of his place. I could have tried to start a fight, but that would not go well. I was outnumbered in his safehouse. Even if I managed to kill him and fight my way out, all the Electric Fangs in the area would be coming to find and kill me for revenge. That was not fair to my employees. They would be the ones fighting for their lives if Emilio and I were out on a day we got raided. I left and made my way over to the speakeasy. Things were going to get a bit intense with them for their foreseeable future. All I could do now was wait.
