After Jon ate a surprisingly big dinner, he and his mom headed to the mall. There weren’t too many obvious differences, the stores were mostly in the same spots except for a new male lingerie store that his mom made a point of walking past quickly without even looking at it. They made their way into a discount store. If Jon’s mom was buying him a whole new wardrobe, she didn’t want to spend too much. Jon walked through the store and tried his best to find things he liked, but it was still too weird to him. Every t-shirt showed too much cleavage, the shorts were all too short, and he didn’t even want to look at the bras. Eventually, his mom got fed up and grabbed a bunch of random clothes. “Try these on.” She said to him. “If they fit, they’re yours.”
Jon obliged and went into the change room. He peeled off Kelsey’s clothes and tried on each shirt, pair of pants, and shorts. He was pleased with how they felt fit wise, but was still apprehensive of the more feminine style. Jon reminded himself that this was normal in this world. He didn’t want to be seen as a prude or insecure, especially if he was trying to impress girls. He came out of the change room and told his mom that they could check out.
They left the store and continued to look around the mall. Jon’s mom was having a good time. She secretly looked forward to this day with her son. She got to see a big part of his life, and could influence Jon’s style. “You know what Jon?” She said, “let’s get you one cuter outfit as well.” Jon cringed at the word “cute” but that was how more feminine clothes were.
They walked into a store with a big unisex section. There, male and female shoppers worked and shopped. The men were noticeably more femininely dressed. One guy in his 20s was wearing a skirt with tights and a crop top. Jon assumed he was gay, but then saw him kiss a beautiful woman with his same body type. Jon figured if he was really going to get used to this world, he would need to embrace his feminine side.
Jon spotted a short denim skirt with some black tights. “I think I like these.” He said to his mother. She was surprised, but delighted with this. She bought them for him right away.
“Perfect,” his mom said, “now let’s get you a couple bras and we’ll be on our way.”
