Back at the Mall...
"We've been talking about...the changes," Athena said, not sure what to call them.
"What about them?" Simon asked.
"Just...Zoe said some things without realizing it that I noticed were strange. Was wondering about the two of you."
"Like what?" Mikey asked.
"Well, how about this...I'm going to ask you a question, and you say the first thing that pops into your mind, okay? Don't think about it," Athena said. They both nodded. She looked at Simon first. "What's your full name?"
"Simon Bla..." he paused suddenly, realizing what he'd started to say. All of them had a perplexed look. Picking up behaviors was one thing...but names? "Fuck..."
Zoe looked at him. "You all right?" She asked.
"I just...need to be alone for a bit..." Simon said. "To think..." he just took off at a brisk walk.
The other three exchanged looks. "I''ll go after him," Zoe said.
Mikey looked at her. "Didn't you hear him? He said he wanted to be alone."
Zoe looked at him for a few seconds before running off after Simon, leaving Mikey alone with Athena.
Athena looked at Mikey. "Doesn't all this bother you?" Oddly, Mikey seemed in a much better mood than he was when they arrived.
Mikey looked at her. "After you and Zoe ditched us to do your own thing, the two of us were actually having fun till you made things weird again..."
"But, don't you care that..." Athena started.
"And what the hell can I do about any of this? Maybe other people think those doctors are going to find a cure, but they're just as clueless as we are. And what about you? Zoe grows a dick and suddenly you two are fooling around? You don't think I didn't notice?"
"That's our business..." Athena said.
"Everyone is so caught up in their own bullshit about this whole thing...you all think I'm angry because I took it from Zoe?" Mikey said. "I'm not allowed to be angry because this completely sucks? And people keep saying I'm having a hard time of it...instead of actually asking me? Everyone's treating me like a little kid."
