Because it was exam season, it was time for part 2 of my major plan. I asked Yukiya if he would entrust me with 3 of his younger sons for the genin exams. He smiled at his wife. She was also pleased. He turned back to me and said "I trusted you and Keisuke with 3 for the chunin exams last year. That was a success. I am more than willing to let Nanaro, Hachiro and Kuro go. Aside from Kuro, it would be their turn to go anyway." I also went to the parents of Haruo. I asked if they would like Haruo to come along and test his skills. Haruo begged them. So did Kuro. They gave their permission. Next was Natsuji and Akita. I did not need to do any convincing. This was a necessity. The had come of age, but they had no say on the council and no one would assign them missions until they were at least genin. That was my squad of 6. It was a clan mission straight from Yukiya-sama so it was official and counted to our total of missions towards jounin. I gathered the squad together. We would take them all over there and come back safe and sound. We set off that day. It sparked memories.
Nanaro and Hachiro
There were several Akaime members in the area. They also wanted to see their genin hopefuls off. Usually it was supposed to be a private undertaking. However, both clans were openly at war with each other. Being minor clans as it was, they could not afford to lose their children. As a principle we had been cutting them down on sight as we waited to break the ones we had kidnapped. To be fair, they would also go hostile on us if they noticed us whether we were being aggressive or not. We had not problems killing them and the kids. Our main priority was making sure that everyone of our genin hopefuls got their safely. To that effect, we never let them fight in our battles on the road. Once we got there, it was all up to them to become genin. It took a few hours of waiting. While they were fighting in the venue underground, a new group of Akaime Clan came. I had my squad stand down. It was not right to fight here. The proctors would stop us and kick us all off the property. The 3 genin hopefuls were let through. There was no way they were leaving if we were staying. We just glared.
We also traded insults with each other to pass the time. I was happy when our squad came back. Nanaro and Hachiro as well as Natsuji and Akita had passed the exam and had their headbands. Kuro and Haruo were not able to pass. It looked like they were too young after all. The obstacle course eliminated them. They looked on the verge of tears. The Akaime Clan members were getting ready to tease. I crouched down and pulled them in a hug. "Boys, do not cry. You are doing your best. You took the exam a year early. That means you can take it again with no problems next year. Now you know how to prepare for next year. You'll have a small advantage." I said firmly. They looked at me. "Do you mean it, Nagisa-chan? I can be a shinobi?" Kuro asked as he bravely tried to hold his tears back. I nodded my head. I took each of them by the hands and said "We're going home." A member of Akaime Clan looked confused. "Where are you going!? What about us?" he demanded. I said "You have your own clanmates to worry about. Don't die off before they show you their headbands."
