Coach Wom took us to a fancy restaurant to celebrate. He said "Eat up. Tomorrow morning, we're training your asses off. Now that we know what you are good at, we're going to get you specialized in those races and events. If a miracle happens, we might even medal at the island tournament." That was fine with me. That was not going to get me closer to winning. And that meant that I was even further away from leaving this crazy island. My relay team was going to the next tournament for both events. I needed to be faster to make up for Anthony and Robert. We were also going to be in at least 2 other things. Medaling for a single relay event at the tournament would get us all out of here. In order to level up faster, I had to do something. Going to school and getting good grades gave me exp. Practice did as well. I was already level 5. If I could get more exp. from other sources, I would be able to level up quicker. Then I could put the skill points in Speed and Strength. There was a way to do that. It was crime. I had to go to another district and look around in the night. I found something really big.

There was a robbery in progress. I ran in on the scene. They were all adults, but that did not matter to me. This was a video game after all. Running towards the closest one, I did a jump kick. It knocked him off balance and I just began wailing on him. He was not the one carrying the knife. He shouted "What the fuck do you think you're doing!?" and came at me. I knew that I needed to keep my distance. He slashed wildly at me with the hunter's knife. The big man was not a trained fighter. That did not mean I wanted to get stabbed by doing this sloppily. I made sure to give him a wide berth while sizing him up. His friend was getting up and I knew that was not good. 2 on 1 was never good odds. Especially during unarmed combat. I gave the crony a punt kick to the head with all my force. That knocked him out. One enemy was better than two of them coming after me. Back to the thug with the knife. He ran towards me with a targeted thrust. I made sure to dodge at the last second and sweep his legs from under them quickly. The oaf fell on the knife and mortally wounded himself. I had won.

When I checked the logs, I only got exp. from the knife wielder dying. This was a realistic setting. You only got exp. from killing hostiles or fulfilling the requirements of a mission. I had no mission to capture them because I was not the police or a bounty hunter or working with them. It that I would have to kill the other one. First thing first, I went to the victim. I asked what happened. "I was walking home down the alley, minding my business when these clowns came up to me. They wanted my wallet. I ran but they caught up to me." Taking a dark alley at night was stupid. Frankly, he deserved to get robbed. I said "I think I should get a reward. Don't you?" I was holding the knife that I took from the big guy. He paled again and handed me his wallet. "Take what you want." he said. I took all the bills and handed it back. "Run before they wake up." I told him. He took the advice and began booking it down the block. I walked over to the guy I knocked out. I slit his throat quickly and let him bleed out. I got even more exp. for the murder and robbery. It was time to go home. Being greedy gets you caught.
