Sarah looked Jon over. "I see you've had a bit more drastic change," she commented. "You look good, considering the circumstances. Come in..."
Jon paused. He'd sort of been worried Sarah was going to make this difficult. "You look good as well."
"I look great," Sarah said, jokingly. "But, don't sell yourself short." She turned her attention to Karyn. "Hello, Karyn..."
"Hi!" Karyn said, looking up at her.
"How are you doing?"
"Okay," Karyn said, shifting from foot to foot. "Everyone got so tall..."
Sarah leaned down. "Well," she lowered her voice. "I bet there are some good things about what happened also. You just have to find them, right?" She smiled in a genuinely friendly way.
That made Karyn feel a bit better. Maybe, she thought, Mrs. Sarah wasn't so bad.
"We're still getting ready for lunch, but how about I show you around?" Sarah offered Jon.
Laura looked at Lucy. "Is there somewhere we can talk?"
"Sure..." Lucy said.
Jon looked at Laura, feeling a bit worried about being left alone with Sarah...they hadn't always had the best relationship. But he could sense that Laura needed to patch things up with an old friend. He focused back on Sarah as they slipped onto the patio. "Do you need help with lunch?" He offered.
"No, my maid is taking care of it..." Sarah said, focused on Jon. "Look...I know we haven't always gotten along in the past...but we used to..."
"When we were toddlers," Jon pointed out.
"And now we're older and hopefully a bit wiser," Sarah said.
"Can we go swimming now?" Karyn interrupted.
Jon smiled indulgently at her. "In a while...why don't you go play your Switch for a bit while we talk?"
"The Living room is right in there," Sarah said. "It should only be a half an hour at the most."
"Thank you," Karyn said, grabbing the device out of the bag of pool stuff they'd brought.
"She's been obsessed with that thing since yesterday," Jon said. "Since Mikey gave it to her."
"As long as it keeps her out of trouble, I guess," Sarah said. "So, we'll change, and then I'll show you around, and lunch should be ready by then."
"Change....into our suits?" Jon said, nervously.
"Are you a bit nervous...because of the changes?" Sarah asked him.
"To be honest...yeah."
"I'm not going to make fun of you, Jon...look at my family. We're all in the same situation. It would be childish."
They headed into the bedroom, and Sarah didn't object when Jon went to the bathroom to change. He stripped off his clothes, folding them neatly, then pulled on the striped bikini top and tied it expertly behind his neck before pulling on the matching bottom, before heading out of the bathroom and stopping. Sarah had started changing in the bedroom and had just finished stripping off her clothes and laying them on the bed.
Jon would normally have been gobsmacked at being in the presence of a naked Sarah, but now he was completely unphased....and that was what gave him pause.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"Last week, how would you and I have reacted to you being naked in the same room with me?" Jon asked.
Sarah paused. "Oh...I didn't think of that." She grabbed her bikini and started to put it on. "Sorry...it's just easy to forget the situation when you're wearing that."
"Stop...." Jon said. Sarah froze. Jon looked at her intently. He was surprised at how mature she looked, even though she was still relatively young. Her blonde hair hanging to her shoulders lightly curled, and just a hint of makeup.
"What?" She asked, confused.
He shook his head. How was he supposed to explain that looking at her naked was about as arousing to him as reading a phone book? He didn't notice that he suddenly knew what a phone book was either. "Never mind...just...how do I look?"
“You’re actually getting a good figure!” Sarah said, trying to sound encouraging. "And it looks like you’re starting to fill that top a little better.” she added. Jon looked down, and sure enough there were two tiny bumps pushing out the material of the top. "If you are going to look more female...you might as well look good, right?"
"I guess I just need to accept that these things are happening," Jon said.
“For what it’s worth, you look amazing!” She said with a kind smile.
“Thanks Sarah.” he said, feeling a bit better. "I just...didn't expect this all."
"What are friends for?" She said.
Sarah was being a friend and he desperately needed one right now. He forced a smile. "Let's go show everyone how good we look then?"
