After Jon grabbed the stone, he thought about how the effects of his previous wish would last for seven days. Seven days? Why did he make the duration so long? How was he supposed to go through an entire week of this? It would have been better if he just ... then it came to him. The perfect wish.
"I wish that until the effects of my previous wish are over, I won't be able to remember my life before the wish was made and think that this current reality is normal," Jon said. This way, he wouldn't have to deal with any of the weirdness. The stone glowed, granting the wish. But when the light dissipated, Jenny wasn't sure what she was doing. The stone was in her hand? Why was that? Was she intending on making a wish? She couldn't remember. All she remembered was trying to get her bigot of a sister to lay off of Mikey, and remove her from the room. Then she came up to her own bedroom and ... grabbed the stone. Okay, that meant that she intended on using it, but for what?
Something that Jon failed to take into consideration was that Jenny still had the wishing stone and would make wishes with it that could be permanent, not remembering that the current reality would only last for the next seven days, thinking that her current reality was the normal one. So after the effects of the "role switching" wish reverted back to normal, any wishes that Jenny made would still be in effect and couldn't be reversed.
