Robin had to do something about the egg. He was in a panic now! His legs were changing… like into that of a bird? Why! He managed to convince his mother that he was fine and would go have breakfast later … So on the plus side, he had the roost- er- home to himself.
He was alone… just him and the egg…
He should have listened to Mike. He felt like a complete mess. He had to somehow get rid of- “ow-“ that thought.. it ‘hurt!’ He winced in the clear distress such a thought brought him. The very idea was abhorrent. He couldn’t… he wouldn’t!
He felt unsure as he looked at the egg… this was alive right? It was… someone… it was depending on him. It needed him… As if to assure himself he walked closer rubbing soft skin against the warm hard shell.
Robin gently felt the odd new layers of feathers around his legs … but suddenly his arm wouldn’t quite ‘work’ in the way he expected. The human limbs suddenly spread outward with fingers lengthening to ‘inhuman’ proportions. ‘Ah’ he screamed in surprise- ‘w-what’s hap-“ the changes accelerated. Brown Feathers grew over the extended limbs… now quite useless as hands but exceptional as … wings. All neatly folding against the other in a beautiful, tessellated pattern.
The teenager was suddenly aghast as a set of rather large breasts slowly grew on his chest… creating a valley of cleavage on his T-shirt awkwardly tugging with the new unexpected growth. They seemed just a little ‘too big’ on his frame though not crazily so. They were probably on the larger side of a C-cup- but clearly a rather … motherly looking set. The dents of his new nipples was rather evident of that.
Robin cringed at he tried to run from whatever was causing this, but he felt his feet seemingly just get confused as he tripped over them .. now large talons fit for a bird! Thee large claws at the front one at the back a pretty scaled dark brown. Feathers started to grow all over his torso, covering those new breasts awkwardly again. Nothing human remained from the neck down at this point.
“Help!” He... or more likely at this point ‘she’ screamed. She cried out as her face began to change. His soft blonde hair taking on more of a light brunette tone and extending down her back. Perhaps the worst part was how her cheeks adopted a slight pink ‘red’ on the cheeks, looking like natural makeup.
Tail feathers grew completely destroying her jeans. She still retained her shirt with the rather womanly set of breasts. “Damn it no! What happened to me!” She looked like a wild trapped animal… trapped in a body not of her own. Not even the right gender anymore!
The new harpy girl had no time to worry about this though as ‘her egg’ was starting to hatch…
‘Chirp chirp’
It was like music … a sigh of relief was felt by the harpy as she beheld her progeny…
The egg started to crack around the top. It moved perhaps hearing the startled cries of its mother. Despite all the confusion and crazy situation the new harpy felt so .. protective of her egg and what was hatching. She didn’t have to wait long as a little chick started to emerge … followed by a second.
The egg... housed twins?
Twins…
All this was a bit too much for Robin as she promptly fainted…
…as the cute new chicks, decided to happily embrace their ‘new mom’ chirping around her large body .. nuzzling close to her chest.
Michael sighed…
The rash felt weird as he went through class… and for some reason his legs were now starting to itch? He winces a bit kicking his legs, feeling… a bit weird. He ignored it as best he could… and at least he was able to make it to his free-study period. “I wonder where Robin is…” he had not seen him at all today. He was worried about him. He had tried to call him but there was no answer.
He was wondering if to go see him after school. He was placing his books in his locker when suddenly a hand slammed onto the metal wall.
“Hey!” A voice boomed.
“Oh- Adrian?” Mike gasped. Damn it! He didn’t need this!
Adrian walked up to Mike. The tall broad-shouldered teenager looking down at the nerdier teenager with a neutral expression. “…you still hang around Robin?” His deep voice asked as he crossed his broad arms and waited for Mike’s response.
Mike held his breath not too sure what to say. “Oh- yeah we… we hang out.” Was honesty best? Had he just put himself in harm’s way now?! Damn it! Mike quietly wondered, what the heck did Robin do! Adrian was … usually quite neutral when it came to the differences of Jocks and Nerds, though it seemed Robin had done something to annoy him. “Uh- Robin has been… very stressed out lately,” he said trying to cover for him. “He’s you know-“
“He pushed me for no reason, in the park yesterday” Adrian explained. “I want to know why.”
‘Oh boy.’ Mike gave a sideways glance. What could he say! “You’re… uh... after revenge or something?” Mike pictured his friend being turned into ground meat by him.
“What?” The muscled teenager laughed after he said that despite how serous he also looked. “No! Of course not! I was… concerned about him. It’s not normal for him to act like that you know?”
Mike blinked. “Huh?”
“…I’m worried he’ll lash out at the wrong person… like a teacher or something.” The strong teen shrugged.
Now it was Mike’s turn to be confused and perhaps even a little surprised. Adrian was always very quiet. He went often to the gym and was this ‘strong silent type’ that most didn’t want to mess with. The fact that Robin pushed ‘him’ of all people! Though now that they were talking… it seemed like such a ‘silly’ thing to assume. Even if Adrian had an unexpected ‘chill’ attitude, he didn’t want to tell him about the egg. “Well-“ At that moment his phone buzzed. It was Robin! “Hello? Robin?”
“Uh- I need your help. Can you come to my house?” He sounded very scared.
“What’s wrong?”
“They- hatched- oh God!” then the phone went dead. “HELP!”
Mike gasped and tried to call back. However, there was no response. All manners of thoughts entered his mind. The egg? It hatched? Maybe an awful monster just … like something out of Aliens?! He felt suddenly sick. This is what they got for messing about with a portal gun!
“You okay?” Asked Adrian.
Mike shivered as he debated what to do. There was now a monster at his friend’s house… and he might need some muscle. “Adrian… I need your help,” He said. “Look- Robin found something… something he couldn’t put away-“
“Drugs?”
“No!” Mike gasped. “Wait- you thought he was on drugs?”
Adrian gave a sullen look. “…it fit my theory, of how he was acting. That’s why I was concerned. He’s a smart kid, I didn’t think he would mess with that stuff… but I had a friend who did so I… I thought I should talk to him. You know. I didn’t want… to see that happen again.” Adrian explained in earnest truth. Once again Mike was appalled at himself for… for thinking the absolute worse of this guy. Why did he think such things?
“Adrian… I know we’re not friends but- I could use your help…”
“Heh, what makes you think we’re not friends, sure I’ll help. What’s up?” Adrian responded thoughtfully again. “If you can give me a hand on some math stuff I think we can call it even.”
“Deal. Okay this is going to sound a bit crazy but… uh… you ever see Rick and Morty?”
“I saw two or three… I guess? So you’re telling me you’ve been jumping dimensions with a portal gun?”
Again Mike was somewhat glad that this could be conveyed with incredible efficiency. “Yeah, and now there’s a monster at Robin’s house and we’re the only ones who can get there fast enough.” He took out the portal-gun and quickly looked through the options. He had never used it to travel inside the same dimension but… surly that isn’t too hard right? They found a secluded spot to activate the device and get them to Robin’s house.
“Intra-dimensional mode selected.” A voice spoke from the device. “Warning. Intra dimensional travel is not recommended. Infinite fractal regression error.’
Mike groaned “ah screw it!” He fired the portal gun setting it to Robins house. The portal that formed was different… it looked like a fractal… a literal tear in the fabric of space time. More fractals appeared not joined up to the main tear.
“Is…that normal?” Adrian asked as it felt like there was a literal Earthquake in the school now.
“Go jump in!” Mike said as the two …ran into the portal.
Small tears in space-time began to pop in and out of the school before settling down.
Adrian had no idea what happened. Going through the portal felt like getting the wind knocked out of him. It was a very rough motion and he felt like he was thrown out of a moving car… and into the the air! “Ah!” He screamed as he found himself … in water.
He floated up gasping as his clothes were now wet and heavy. He tasted the salt water … he was in the ocean!?
A watery wet ocean… no land… just blue everywhere.
“Oh no… No!” Adrian had been zapped right in the middle of the freakin’ ocean! This was bad. He couldn’t even tell ‘which’ ocean it was .. “No shores… and… oh- two moons…”
Two moons handing like beautiful jewels in the sky. One looked green the other a deep red. It was almost like giant eyes staring from the clouds. He tried to swim to stay afloat. “Damn it Mike! Where the hell are you I-“
He was getting tired. As athletic as he was, the jock was built more for brute strength then stamina. His clothes heavy he could feel himself starting to fall…
He couldn’t float with his clothes and too tired to take off his shoes .. which felt like lead to him.
He sank… trying to hold his breath for as long as he could. He thought of how meeting Mike, and seeing that curious magic portal gun would probably be the last thing he ever saw. Maybe a failsafe to prevent other people knowing… no- Mike wouldn’t do that. Maybe it was an accident… maybe he didn’t know…
He felt a little sad now. Adrian wasn’t sure too sure how to contemplate ‘death’ as such… but if help didn’t come soon, he was a goner. He was not the kind of guy to give up though. He thrashed at the ocean, fighting… every breath… for every second… every moment… “Got to… think… hang… on…” Someone would come… A portal…
He thought he saw gigantic tentacles suddenly wrap around his cold tired body… he vaguely saw a huge eye on him and thought … he had just ascended to an alien heaven.
“Child...”

Mike ‘fell’ out the portal a bit badly. He felt prone as he felt oddly ‘stretched.’ Adrian was supposed to be with him but he felt like he was pulled or ripped away- at least he made it to Robin’s house and … his room? He slowly got up-
“A monster!” A bird woman gasped clutching what looked like two birds in her wings. “Go away!”
“Ah- Robin!? Is that you!?” Mike blinked. What the heck?!
“… Mike!?”
Mike glanced behind seeing some large snake tail still tethered to the other end of the fractal portal. “Ahh” he- or ‘she’ screamed as she scrambled to pull more and more of this snake tail through the portal. Ten… fifteen … twenty feet of it. The appendage finally ended but the poor girl was in a fit as she stared at her body. This was all .. part of her!?
“Where the heck did these clothes come from!” She was wearing a bright red dress... which seemed to cover most the essentials. However she felt acutely aware that she was now ‘female’… and without legs at that. His somehow had effect of feeling ‘more’ exposed then normal as she tried to tug down her dress.
Mike had become a lamia!
The new girl had exceptionally long dark black hair and a curious green tail, coiled haphazardly around her. She looked what she might imagine her sister to look like. Except for this gigantic snake tail! She tried to move .. wiggle .. or slither as she felt tears sting her eyes. “What happened to me?!?” She was wearing a bra.. a small a-cup size but definitely breasts … a girl . “Oh crap!”
“What happened to you? Nothing compared to me!” The harpy girl shrieked, causing the birds to suddenly cry. “Ah- no please don’t cry uh-“ she played a game of peakaboo with her wings. The chicks suddenly seemed more playful and started to flutter towards their mother playfully.
Mike watched this in confusion. “I thought you were being attacked by a monster!” He used the portal gun in an emergency for this?!
“I am! Look at them!” She gestures to the two harpy chicks chirping. They were bouncing on her bed, the remnants of the egg-shell could also be seen.
“Chirp-chirp” the two spoke in unison.
Robin looked concerned to them. “Um… I think hey are hungry… what do baby birds eat?”
“Worms?”
The harpy family looked at the snake as an instinctual thought gripped them.
Mike coiled her tail in front of her. “Don’t look at me!” She groaned. “I need to find a cure- we both do…”
Then there was the matter of how to explain this to everyone else!
