Sarah's walk was badly cutting up her bare feet, but she didn't notice. Her mind was focused on one thing and one thing only - finding new clothing to wear. It was the only thing that mattered.
She walked until she entered a more middle-class area of town, then turned and headed straight into a house. Even though the door was locked, she went straight in, as if it wasn't, then went up the stairs to where the bedrooms were.
Moments later, she found herself in the bedroom belonging to Zoe Gibson, a 15-year old Goth girl who she and her friends had ridiculed and bullied on more than one occasion. Right now, the Goth was soundly sleeping in her black-quilted bed, so she didn't see Sarah coming into her room. But had she been awake, she wouldn't even have known that Sarah was there. She pulled open one of Zoe's drawers and pulled out a black bra and a matching pair of panties. She pulled off her baby-doll nightie, then donned the underwear. She then found a black T-shirt and purple pajama bottoms (that had little white and black skulls printed all of them) similar to the ones that Zoe was wearing right now, then suddenly blinked, coming out of her trance. When this happened, Zoe suddenly woke up and walked out of her room, in a trance-like state similar to the one that Sarah was in when she came to the Gibson house. When Zoe was out of the room, Sarah took her place in the bed, under the covers.
And that was when she began to glow, just like Jon had when he took Sarah's place. Then the glow seemed to explode outwards from her, encompassing the entire bedroom, moments before the alarm sounded.
Groaning, Zarah woke up and hit the snooze button on her alarm clock, and went back to sleep in her comfy bed. Shortly later, her alarm went off again. "Okay, okay, I'm up," she said, with another groan. Turning off her alarm, she pulled the gray-colored covers back and swung herself out of bed.
Not that she realized it, but her entire life was now different. Zarah Gibson was now 16 years old (a Sophomore, who also had a driver's license), having natural light brown hair, C-cups breasts, and was no longer a member of the popular crowd, any more than she was one of the Goths. She was somewhere in between, somehow incorporating aspects of both groups. She liked to wear black, sometimes even leather or fishnets, but she preferred her outfits to be cute and alluring. Unlike Zoe, she didn't much like black make-up, instead opting for burgundy, or shades of red, for her lips and nails. Her skin was a normal peachy color, somewhere halfway between Sarah's sun-kissed tan and Zoe's pale white. Zarah's taste in music had also changed. Instead of Sarah's love for pop music, or Zoe's love for heavy metal, Zarah loved listening to glam metal, which incorporated aspects of pop music into metal music. One thing that Zoe and Sarah had in common, though, was their bitchiness. Sarah's came from a place of arrogance, thinking she was better than everyone else because of her family's wealth and social standing, whereas Zoe's came from her hatred of the world around her, which just didn't understand her and her fellow Goth friends. So both girls had lashed out. Unfortunately, Zarah retained that aspect of both of their lives. But in her case, it was because she took a delight in hurting people. Not quite a sadist, but she'd normally go out of her way to humiliate someone that had wronged her in some way, both to punish them, of course, but also because she got a thrill out of it. Like it was with Saron, Zarah kept some of the friends belonging to the two people who "created" her. Being a little older, her best friend now was Sabrina Johnson (a Junior, so one year older) who was a Goth punk girl. They had a lot in common, personality-wise. She also had other friends - Jessica Davis and Nicole Lisle. In a previous reality, Jessica was one of Sarah's fellow cheerleaders. They weren't really close, but they hung out a lot nonetheless, though Sarah did that with a lot of the other cheerleaders too - she had a lot of friends. In the new reality, Jessica and Zarah were much closer friends. Jessica was still a cheerleader, which Zarah frowned on, but Jessica admired Zarah's assertiveness, being her own person and not letting others tell her who she was, or who she should be. The bad thing about Zarah, in Jessica's opinion, was that she tended to have a mean-streak, going out of her way to punish people who wronged her, and in a very public and humiliating way, probably to ward off others who might think to do the same, but still ... Jessica just wished that Zarah could handle those situations better. Nicole was a different story. The exchange student from France was only a casual friend of Sarah's, wanting their "friendship" to be much more, as she admired Sarah's sense of style and "authority". It was what attracted Nicole to Sarah the day they met. But in the new reality, it was Zarah who approached the French girl instead, seeing a girl unfamiliar with this country and doing her best to fit in. Ever since then, Zarah had helped Nicole adjust, but it was actually more like Zarah was helping her change. And now, the French fashionista girl was a lot more like Zarah than herself, fashion-wise, anyway. Zarah even got her into liking glam metal.
At the moment, Zarah was in between boyfriends. Zoe wasn't dating anyone, as no guy was really interested in the creepy Goth girl, but Sarah had been dating Biff Meadows, the star quarterback on the high school football team. In the new reality, Zarah just wasn't Biff's type. Oh, she was pretty good looking and all, but not the type of sexy babe he was looking for. And then there was her quasi-sadistic mean streak. Frankly, he wasn't all that interested in dating a bitch ... unless she was a total babe, then maybe he'd give it a shot. But with Zarah? No way.

Meanwhile, Zoe walked on like a zombie, not even realizing that she no longer really existed, or that when she found a new outfit to wear, she would never be the same ever again.
