"Myka, are you okay?" came Lanie's voice as she ran into the room.
"Uh ... I think so," Myka said, grabbing her head.
Zendaya watched her stand up, and while Lanie wasn't aware of what had just happened, Zendaya noticed the changes in Myka's body language.
A moment ago, she'd looked scared and vulnerable, but now...she seemed her normal, more assertive self.
"Are you sure?" Lanie said. "You had a bit of a shock."
"I'm fine," Myka said. "Except...I'm going to go change...I can't wear my gym shorts all night. I'll feel better once I'm cleaned up."
Lanie was torn between the change she saw in Myka and being pleased she was back to normal...or had she moved from shock to denial?
"I'll go finish the food order," Lanie said.
"Thanks," Myka said. She grabbed Zendaya's hand and urged her away from Lanie. "And thanks for what you did..." She said. "I can't believe I was so out of it I couldn't handle a boy..."
"So...you remember what happened?"
"I was acting like some kid who'd never been kissed," Myka said, shrugging.
"So, Steve didn't try to rape you?"
"I flirted with him...and...he got a little too excited. I'm not sure I appreciate him acting like a jerk when I said no and ripping my skirt...but if I'd have been in my right mind, I'd never have said no."
"Myka...what if it was someone who said no and meant it....and Steve tried to force it? If he was prepared to do that...he should be in trouble for it," Zendaya insisted.
"I'm not sure if he would have done anything if I didn't encourage him. But it might not be a problem for much longer. There's still that wish in effect. Things keep changing. Like your loser friend Karyn...first she was a junior, then you said she was a senior...if she keeps getting older, you might forget even knowing her."
Zendaya paused, feeling conflicted for a moment. Myka had always been a handful, but a few moments ago, she seemed legitimately shocked she'd called someone a loser...now she was back doing that. She wondered if she had made a terrible mistake wishing for Myka's memories.
They got to Myka's room, and she stripped off her gym shorts and started to change. "What did you say this wish changed?" Zendaya asked, switching back to Myka's other comment.
