"Can we ponder about this later?" Grave asked. "I just got let off the hook for breaking into that school teacher's apartment. I want to have some time to unwind, ya know?" she said, before heading into the Spiked Pit.

"Wait, it was a teacher's apartment you broke into? Which teacher?" Simon asked, following his friend into the club, unaware how his hair was now shoulder-length, the tinge of color now creeping further up his strands of hair, looking just like the color of pink that the original Sabrina Johnson had.

Jay still wanted to figure out what was going on, but he also wanted to hang out with his friends, so he quickly headed into the club as well.

It was still early, and the club generally opened in the evening and was open till the early morning, so it wasn't officially open now, but there was always work to be done. Jay reached into his bag for something.

"Am I the only one of us who isn't pissed off at something most of the time?" He asked Grave and Simon.

The two exchanged looks. "You're like a fuckin' Goth Mother Theresa," Grave told her. Simon seemed to agree.

"What's exactly is a Goth Mother Theresa like?" Jay asked her. "I'm pissed off at things, I just don't see the point in yelling and screaming about it. And...you just blamed us for not bailing you out of jail...did you remember to call us?"

"And where were you two?"

"Simon was convinced that this Sabrina girl had pranked him," Jay said. "So we went to talk to Principal Smith."

"You went to talk to that bitch?"

"I didn't...I got blocked by a...moral values lecture. Simon snuck in."

"She got me expelled!" Grave insisted.

Jay sighed and looked at Simon, hoping to change the subject. The sooner that Grave calmed down, the more actual fun she'd be to be around. Until the next time she drank too much and got arrested. If he and Simon hadn't had the same weird experience, he'd think it was just one of her escapades. He didn't mention that the reason he'd let himself get blocked is that Margot Smith always seemed disappointed by him...he'd been one of the top students in high school, and she thought what he'd chosen to do with his life was a waste. But she really didn't understand.

The ground floor of the Spiked Pit was the club. And the upstairs had been converted into an apartment. There was actually room for several more rooms up there, but they remained empty. The building dated back nearly a century, and Jay loved the history of it. it gave it a ghostly feeling.

Simon looked around. "This place is no fun during the day," he remarked.

"Well, who would come here during the day? It's a nightclub," Jay said, somewhat sarcastically.
