Kathy was a hard working graduate student who worked with him at the university.
She was connected to him but it would be easy enough to fix anything that would go wrong in a lab full of dangerous equipment.
When he arrived the next morning to see her already going through her prep work for the day with the inventory of equipment he had acquired for different studies of the occult and their relationship with science. Keeping things stable and from deteriorating was her daily duty.
