So they went shopping, which was a further learning experience. Buoyed by her new look, Karyn splurged on a dress, one of the few she had ever bought, because it looked good, and she found she really liked looking good.
Sarah was pleased.
As they shopped Karyn learned that these girls were more than just the mean girl bimbos she thought they were too. They had standards, they had expectations of the world, and they were in a sense, royalty, which meant that the world also expected certain things from them.
They were the pretty people, and that came with privileges that others just didn’t get, but they had to put in the work to be that. It was a pleasant surprise to find that these girls were people, that this status they held weighted on them a little, as well as held them up.
The final surprise was Tom, who was waiting for them with the other guys at the end of the mall. Karyn could see in his eyes the stunned look on his face as she walked towards him. She had caught the attention of a few passers by as the day had gone on and she still wasn’t used to that feeling of pride, or disgust in some cases that she felt when that happened. This was different, there was something else behind his eyes, something that made her feel something, and she looked away and blushed at it.
He called her beautiful, it was the first time anyone ever had, and as they all paired off for their dates, Karyn found herself beginning to fall more and more into her role, so much so that as they night ended, kissing him felt right.
The year progressed, but the changes didn’t stop. The wish had given Karyn larger breasts, which in turn had upped her estrogen, which in her pubescent body, meant more changes still. As the year went on Karyn went from average girl to stunning vixen, as her hormones continued to change her body, as the year passed she found her dimensions changing, her hips expanded, her eyes widened, her voice rose an octave as her vocal cords tightened to a softer soprano. Then there was the effect of the cheerleading, a must for social standing, which had shed her of excess weight, making her large breasts stand firm, and her waist tight, by years end she had transformed from a square shaped girl to an hourglassed standout.
This all felt more natural than the magic, but it was an effect of the magic all the same.
By years end, Kare bear had become everything but a rival for most beautiful girl in the school, a role she gave to Sarah by default. Karyn still had to work to be what she was, what she thought of as simple good genetics was not enough, Sarah had something else, she seemed to make all this seem effortless, there was so much she could still learn from Sarah.
So it was that a year passed for Karyn, a year which saw her transform, from quite and awkward redheaded loser, to princess of the school, she looked back on her old life as nearly someone elses. She couldn’t believe that she used to date Tom, who was nice, and had been a good introduction to this life, but she was having so much more fun with Steve now that Tom was a distant thought in her head. She just hoped Tiffany didn’t mind too much.
