After quite a good deal of thinking, Gary decided that while this latest change in reality was still far from perfect, it was probably the closest thing to a happy ending he was likely to get from the wishing stone. He had his son back, even if he was married to Jenny. No one would think Gary crazy anymore.
Best to quit while I'm ahead, Gary decided. But what was he going to do about the stone?
However, he soon came to a decision. He and Karyn were trusted partners in this, thanks to the earlier wish. And Karyn did know more about the stone than he did.
"Karyn, I'd like you to have the stone." said Gary, handing it to her. "I don't think I can handle it any more. I'm afraid I might screw up."
Karyn thought this was sudden, but she accepted the stone.
That night, Karyn tried to get some sleep, but she couldn't. She still wasn't sure just what was going on with Jenny, and Biff. Gary Meadows hadn't explained everything to Karyn, but she trusted him for some reason.
Karyn was puzzled by the whole thing. And she wanted answers.
Clutching the stone, she said "I wish..."
