Hardly anything seemed to change. But Gary, looking around for signs of change, did notice the wedding ring on Jenny's finger.

Meanwhile, Jenny was saying "See, that didn't work, I'm the same as always."

Gary pointed to the ring. "You made us married! The stone just doesn't change your memory." But then it occurred to him that the wish might not have been as big a disaster as he thought. "Lorraine," he yelled out.

"Yes, honey?"

"How long have we been married?"

"17 years," she replied. "It's not that hard to calculate."

Gary let out a sigh of relief. "You didn't say 'married to each other'. So I'm still married to Lorraine, and you're married to someone else."

"I told you the stone was fake," said Jenny.

"But who's Jenny married to?" wondered Karyn.

Then Biff arrived and kissed the surprised Jenny. Making Gary even more surprised. His son was a boy again. And apparently married to Jenny now.

He decided to try one thing: "Jenny, give me the rock."

Jenny obediently handed it over. Which proved his theory. Way back, he had wished that Jon would become more cooperative with him. That wish never ended! Jenny was still cooperative with him.

"I wish I knew how Biff became Biff again," mumbled Gary.

Gary had finally figured out one of the wishes that all skilled users of the stone figured out. And he had his answer. Jon had wished that Biff was now a sexy cheerleader. He could change into one and change back a second later and that wish would still be true. The second wish was just for Biff to be normal. He could still be normal as a boy. There was a third wish--that everyone would remember the transformed girls as girls--but since the stone affected people's memory anyway, that wish had no effect and didn't need to be reversed.

In other words, because of the way it was worded, the wish had always been reversible! Jon just hadn't realized it at the time.

"Who are you?" said Jenny. "You're cute, but I like Gary! I wanted to marry him." Jenny heard her own wish, after all. It didn't change her own memories.

Gary quickly made another mumbled wish. "I wish for everyone else to forget that Jenny was ever my mistress, and remember Biff as Biff."

"Did you say something, babe?" asked Biff.

"Just saying how much I love you as a husband, Biff," replied Jenny.

So things were better, thought Gary. He had his son back, and he still had his wife Lorraine. Jon had been changed into a cheerleader named Jenny, and everyone remembered her being that way, even Karyn. Karyn and Gary were still partners, of course, and Jenny was cooperative with him. Karyn and Gary were probably the only ones who knew about the stone. The one downside was that Jenny was married to his son Biff.

Was this enough? He hadn't even expected to get his son back, after all. Should Gary just make Karyn forget and then bury the stone somewhere, so as not to make things any worse? Or should he try to fix things further and risk messing them up again?
