After a few moments Jon returned with Simon and after sending him down the stairs to the basement with the coffee for Ruby, he sat at the table and took a sip of his own. He’s never used to like the stuff, but now he found he enjoyed the bitter taste. Laura took a deep breath and spoke.
“Jon, could I have a quick word with you?” She asked.
“Sure thing mom, what’s up? Did everything go ok down there?” Jon replied sweetly.
“Yeah, we spoke about a few things actually, and something came up.” Laura said hesitantly, “Ruby told me you’d been feeling a few things, and I was hoping I could talk to you about them.”
“Oh?” Was all Jon replied, he felt his heart start to beat a little faster.
“Yeah, I want to be honest with you.” She continued, “basically, since the hot-tub last night, I’ve been having these really strong feelings…about you” she added with a blush.
“Mom…”
“Let me finish please” she interrupted, “Ruby said it’s just me feeling Simons attraction towards me, genetic something or other, and I just wanted to let you know that I’m not planning on acting on any of them. I guess I just wanted to tell you that I’m finding dealing with them a little difficult at the moment, just in case you were worried at all” she finished. They sat in silence for a few seconds before Jon spoke again.
“Honestly mom, I’ve been feeling the same way. I’m finding it really confusing, like part of me knows it’s wrong, and part of me really wants it anyway. We spoke about the same thing, and she assured me that it’s totally natural to feel these things under the circumstances. Hell she even told me we’re not even biologically related any more.” He blurted out, slightly relieved to get this weight off his chest.
“She told me that same thing!” Laura smiled gently, “honestly, that made me feel a little sad, the thought of us not being related anymore.” She added. Jon nodded in agreement.
“I know what you mean” he replied.
“Thank you Jon, I was already scared we were growing apart before all of this happened. You’re my son, and I’ll always love you, no matter what. Sharing these things with you makes me feel closer to you again.” she said, placing a hand gently on his shoulder.
“And I love you too mom” he said getting to his feet and holding out his arms for a hug. Laura smile again and embraced him. She noticed how much shorter he felt in general, his skin, his hair. She squeezed him tight for a second, then let go, feeling a tightening in her boxers.
“Sorry” she grinned apologetically as she reached down and rearranged herself.
“It’s ok” Jon smiled back. Suddenly there was a buzzing noise from the table as his phone went off. He checked the screen and saw it was another message from Sarah.
we’re all done here, call me when you can
He quickly typed a reply
give me five minutes
He looked over at Laura and was about to speak when Simon emerged from the basement looking a bit sheepish.
“That was fast” Laura chuckled. Simon simply shrugged and said.
“Whatever. She wants to see Karyn next.” Before heading back to the living room to fetch her.
“Does he seem ok to you?” Laura asked Jon.
“He must be struggling with things like the rest of us.” Jon replied, “anyway, can you keep an eye on everyone, I just need to make a quick phone call” he added as he headed outside to the deck.
