Adam glanced at her sister and Penny a moment, before tentatively stepping off the large chair, and towards the plush toys. She glanced at the chair again, marvelling at just how big everything was. She huddled over to the Fairy Queen, hoping this time things would go better. She just had to explain exactly what happened, that it was something she got from a shop that turned her into this. She was not a real fairy, not in the slightest. She just had to make her understand. "Hi- uh-"
The fairy queen shook her head. "I really don't want to repeat myself child."
"Oh-" What? Oh! The wingless fairy-girl curtsied as best she could. Lacking in the Queen's magical element, her skirt slipped from her fingers and it was perhaps the most atrocious curtsy one can give. Her legs were too close together, and it had too much of a bow in it... not very lady like at all.
The Fairy Queen arched an eyebrow. Did this girl not know anything? She didn't even speak her name. Still, she did not want to sound discouraging. "Well, it's a start..." She nodded. "I will add etiquette training to your List of Tasks. There will be a formal exam at the end of the month." She took out a rather long sheet of paper, using the other end of her wand, (which apparently doubled as a pen) she started to write- no- engrave a new line upon the strange paper. "Here you are..." she handed it over, with a gloved regal hand.
Adam gulped and tentatively took the paper most unceremoniously, finding it start to glow with the same strange magic as her own crown and wand. Etched at the top right was a symbol that looked to be like some sort of Royal Seal. On the left there was a blank box... The words however, were clearly glowing with the energy of the Fairy Queen. "W-What is this?" She looked at the list and read the top lines. "Help the squirrels, Plant a tree, make a... little boy... clap?" That was only the start, the list seemed to be endless... she tried to scroll to the end but this was a magical piece of paper. It had no end. More tasks just showed themselves, all of them seeming to be quite silly.
"Consider this your formal communique from me to you," she said. "Though you certainly are among the more.. unique... of my Subjects, I can not always-"
"W-Wait- you got this all wrong!" Adam said quickly waving the paper in her hand. "I'm not really a fairy! And-" suddenly she found herself frozen, and unable to speak, as the Queen flicked her wand.
The tall Queen approached her subject, looking very 'unamused'. " Please, do not interrupt when I am speaking. I have overlooked some of your errors, but I will not tolerate such rudeness."
Rudeness? This was completely wrong! She could do nothing though but stand to attention before the Queen as she appraised her, not even able to turn her neck to follow her.
After a moment more, the Queen spoke. "Hm Yes. My evaluation is as follows: I see great potential in you Adam. With a little more time, I believe you can go far. Your attire is... pleasing to the eye, perhaps work on your hair a little. As for your escape..." she considered her carefully. "Well, being 'let out' is hardly an escape on your own merit. Please improve upon that. Preferably, do not get trapped again. Honestly, I am embarrassed for us all when that happens. " She flickered her wand once more, releasing the spell.
Adam found she could move again. "Ah- w-what about.. that toy I brought to life. Isn't that a.. bad thing?"
The Fairy Queen glanced to Penny then back to Adam, her expression surprisingly neutral. "Do humans create fire by breathing upon glowing embers? You did not 'create life', simply light a spark that was already there. It was alive to you already, in many ways. But like a fire, will burn out eventually."
Adam glanced at the power-ranger toy a bit sadly at that. She hoped it would last a while all the same. "R-Right... so, what can I do to... be human again?"
"Such is not my concern. You are a fairy and will be held to the same standards as all others. I will be keeping a close eye on you. I will look forward to the day you earn your wings. I will summon you."
Suddenly a hand grabbed all around adam's body. "Ah!"
"Fairy-girl time fairy girl time!" giggled Alice as she placed Adam on a chair- the same one that was too big for her really. "Would you like some Tea miss fairy??" She gave one of her doll cups to her. It was also a little large to wrap her arms around. Alice was flying above her, like a big balloon.
"Uh sure," said Adam, She hoped mom and dad would be here soon.. and not freak out.
