As Kevin took in his mother's words, the truth of what she was saying hit him like a splash of freezing cold water. As the reality of what he had done sank in, Kevin's mouth opened in horror.
"What ... what have I done?" he shouted. "Jon..."
He stood up for a moment, and then sat down on the bed with his face in his hands. "I ... you're right, Mom. I've done something ... bad."
Mrs. Black stared at her son as he sat there with his head hung low.
"I ... I ruined my best friend! Why did I do it?!?" Kevin said, hitting his head against his arm.
Mrs. Black spoke. "But you didn't. Wishes like that can't come true. And it's good that they can't."
"You don't understand, Mom. They can." Kevin blurted.
"What do you mean, they can?" Mrs. Black said, almost shuddering. Once again, her son sounded so sure, as if he knew everything he said was the truth.
Kevin looked his mother in the eye. "I might as well tell you. I'm not really your son. At least I didn't start out as your son. I used to be your daughter. My name was Karyn."
"What?"
"Yeah. I was a girl up until earlier today." Kevin admitted. "But then Jon shared with me this magic wishing stone his grandfather left him the other day. We experimented with it a bit. Today, I decided to wish that I was a boy named Kevin."
"But you've always been a boy named Kevin." Mrs. Black said. "Ever since the day you were born."
"You remember it that way because unless you hear the wish, then the stone arranges it so that everyone remembers things as if they were always the way the wish made it." Kevin replied. "So as far as you know, I've always been Kevin."
"But why?" Mrs. Black asked. "Why'd you turn yourself into a boy?"
"I guess I just wanted a change." Kevin said. "I'd always wondered what it was like to be a boy, and I wasn't all that happy as a girl, being picked on by Sarah and the others at school. Maybe the grass was greener on the other side."
"And do you know what? When I got home and looked around my room and saw my new life, I thought this was right, and this was gonna work out. Of course I had to test out my new equipment, so I started jacking off. But that wasn't enough. I needed a girlfriend and I needed one fast..."
Kevin then stopped. He couldn't bring himself to continue.
"And that's when you made that wish." Mrs. Black said
"I don't know what I was thinking!" Kevin said. "I was still turned on from having my first male orgasm that I just made that wish without thinking. And now Jon's ..."
He looked almost ready to cry.
"Now, now. Surely if this magic stone did do what you asked, you could make another wish and change him back." Mrs. Black offered.
"But it CAN'T, Mom!" Kevin declared. "It can't grant wishes if they contradict other wishes! I turned Jon into a girl who's madly in love with me and obedient, and I can't turn him back!"
Mrs. Black gasped. She stood there, not knowing what to say. There was a long and uncomfortable silence as Kevin sat on the bed.
"What was it I said?" Kevin said. He grabbed the stone. "I wish we could hear me saying my previous wish out loud again."
And at once, Kevin's voice filled the room. "I wish that Jon Madison would transform into Jen Madison, and that she would be my hot, loving, and devoted cheerleader girlfriend. I wish that she was madly in love with me and totally obedient to anything I ask her to do. I also wish that she remembered that she used to be a boy, but that she is incredibly happy and thankful to now be Jen."
Kevin turned to Mom. "You see? I can't undo all that! How am I supposed to get around that? I wanted to be a boy, but not a CREEP! Not a JERK! But that's what I became..."
He buried his face in his hands, dropping the stone on the floor.
Mrs. Black wasn't sure what to do. She wondered if she should take the stone, or call Jen and tell her just what the wish had done to her. Or if she should just stand there doing nothing.
