It wasn't an ideal existence. Jamie wished her life was different, and now that she had this stone...it could be.
She'd seen enough movies where people made bad wishes about their lives that she wanted to think about it for a bit, and not make a stupid mistake. So she placed the stone in the pocket of her uniform and headed to work.
Most of the day was fairly quiet, giving her time to think. It wasn't until the post school three o'clock rush, where a bunch of kids from the high school came over, that things started to get busy.
Along with the mall food court, McDonalds was a place many of them hung out. Some got meals, but most of them just bought fries and drinks and sat laughing with their friends.
