If you wanted to be a cleric, you had to be a very devout member of a faith. Crime paid, but it was a double-edged sword. NPC bounties for arrest would only grow until the criminal in question was captured or killed. Doing illegal things and getting away with it gave massive exp. to those willing to tussle with the cops and be an outcast to polite society. Since this was clearly not the world Suzie was in, I would have to wait to meet up with her. It did not seem like I would be able to switch servers. Maybe I could even ask her to join me on this world. First, I would need to get something started up. I looked for a gym. Finding a boxing gym would be best to get my exp. up. I could train on the equipment to raise my strength and endurance. Actually fighting would give me the exp. that I needed to get to the point I could level up. Looking around the district of the city I was in was not working. There did not seem to be any in this residential area. All I found was a park near the coast. Wandering through it, I looked around and asked if there was a gym nearby. Most local people just ignored me totally.
Getting that reaction was a bit frustrating. It was to be expected though. I must have looked like a weird tourist to them. My appearance was all randomized, so I had no control over it. I had purple eyes and glasses. I also had a head of light gray hair with a blue rat tail and a mole on my chin. Not the most conventionally attractive person around. Not even I thought so. With nothing to do, I had to go out and explore the world on my own. Instead of checking out the city, I was more interested in the beach. I was a fisherman apparently. Being near the water was something I was supposed to do. There was lots of sand and water further down the road. It had been a very long time since I went to the beach in my real life. I got onto the sand and made my way to the waterline. I was two thirds of the way to the right of the beach. At the furthest point on the right was the pier. On the furthest point to the left, there was a cove. That was probably the Dusty Cove that the map referred to. It caught my interest more than the pier, so I went over to it. I took me about 12 minutes in-game to make my way there.
The inlet let the water of the ocean flow into the mouth of a cave. From my eye, the water was easy to wade through during the low tide. I had a thought that there would be a lot more water going inside during the high tide. My curiosity got the better of me. I began to walk into the cave quietly. I did not want to alert anyone to my presence in the cave. There could be anything in there. When I got a good 26 yards into the cave, I saw a group of torches lit together. Someone was in there. That did not deter me. I continued to stealth over and I saw 6 people relaxing in the water. Moving even closer, I saw that they were not human. It appeared that 6 mermen were reclining in the water. It seemed that they were not pleased about something. None of them were talking or even looking at the others. One in particular was slapping his tail against the water, splashing water everywhere in an attempt to annoy the others. One of them took the bait and said "Would you stop that!? We're no longer guppies. Once we are bathed in the light of the full moon, we'll be adults!" "Make me then." was the response.
