Getting there was not really the problem. I was given good directions. As a police officer, he knew generally where everything was. I thanked him for the help. In real life, my uncle was a police detective. I had respect for the law and deference to police in most interactions. It seemed it was bleeding into the game. However, he did not seem to care. "Keep your nose clean. I don't want to have to come back here for a complaint." he said before walking off with his partner. I was not planning on it. Just as the wind blew softly through the trees, I was turning to find the gym. There were a trio of flashy guys calling me over. They looked like they were delinquents. To be very honest, all of them looked kind of slutty too. Since it could be an event for the game, I decided to go over to them. You never knew where your adventure could start. As the game was so dynamic, any NPC could be a quest giver at anytime. You just had to pay attention to those that seem to need help or, conversely, seemed really aloof and self-assured. The 3 guys calling me seemed really confident from how they dressed.

Approaching them made them smile. "We saw you talking to that cop over there. What did you ask him!?" the one in the skirt asked. As I got closer, it looked like he was wearing a bra under the white shirt he was wearing. "Hi, I am David. Nice to meet you." I said as I held out my hand. The 3 looked at each other before sharing a chuckle amongst themselves. "You aren't from Kapik City, are you?" one of the blonds asked. He looked identical to the other one standing next to him. I nodded. I hoped this would not lead to problems. "Yeah. I just got here, so I was walking around to see the sights. I want to get to the nearest gym so I can find a place to settle down for now and rest. I asked the officer for directions." They looked at me seriously. "I know a gym. Where did the cop tell you to go?" the other blond asked me. I told them what I was just told. They frowned at me. "That... is a gym, sure. It is where a lot of criminals and thugs hang out." the first blond said to me. That put the "It's the place people like you belong." in context. I had been profiled unfairly by that officer. Not a good start.

I asked if they knew any gyms that I could go to. They had one place in mind. There was one only half the distance and in a better part of town. It happened to not be an actual gym though. It was the local recreation center. It all was fine with me. As long as it had a gym, I would be fine. The recreation center had one, as well as both an indoor and outdoor pool, meeting rooms, and several games and activities for the community to enjoy. "Wow. That sounds great. Where is it?" I asked. They gave me the directions. It was marked on my map along with the gym the policeman had recommended to me. Since I was here, I might as well ask them if they had something for me to do. I saw them look at each other. They were not going for it. "We don't know you good enough for that type of thing." the first blond said. "You look kind of flakey, not going to lie." the second said. The one with the skirt just said "I'm good for now, so don't worry about it." If I wanted to get quests from them, I would need to better my relationship with them. I asked them for their names. They were Bryce, Brock and Brett.
