Smiling, Alpha said "Looks like we'll be taking the credit when it's done, though." I looked at a miffed Lime. "Don't worry. I'm the clan engineer. I will vouch for you when it comes time to make stuff for the PEA units." I told him. It was then that we saw some of the others come down the hallway. Beta and Gamma decided to join. Since Lime could not join a party due to his age, I wanted 6 PEA units to go. Zeta agreed to come when I found him. That brought the total to 5 Brandon was also up for the mission once it was explained. That was now a full party. We then headed out to go do it. Lime served as a lookout and scout. I was the back up. The 6 got to work when Lime gave them the signal. From there it was pretty easy. They were great hackers, and I had a few spare ciphers laying around to make it an instant success for them. They got some credits sent their way. It was still the morning, so we went to the park next to let them get their batteries charged. We were sitting on the rim of the wishing fountain. We saw something weird. There was a new PEA unit jogging by. He then stopped.

Then I see that there were 2 PEA units walking up to me. I knew that it was me because they were making eye contact. I asked them what was going on when they had gotten half way to us. I got no response from them. They just kept walking towards me. By now the others had all noticed. When one pulled out a knife and the other a gun, I knew this was a hit job. I called down a pillar of fire in between us. They had to stop then. "Cool it, guys. We're leaving!" I said. There was no reason to put the others at risk. There was also no real reason to fight them. The one with the gun then began shooting at me. I just sighed. Calling down spikes of light and more fire was easy. All of the noise the fight to the attention of everyone in the area. The PEA units ran to my side and began to return fire. The one with the knife got too close to me. I grabbed his arms and grappled the weapon out of his hand. I dragged him to the ground. The other one was quickly destroyed. Blue blood spilled on the pavement as the body fell. We got to bully and interrogate the PEA. He was not given a name by his clan.

It made sense. Most of them did not value the concept of names enough to adopt one, let alone give one out. His PEA unit designation was 01-04. This was only his 8th mission. That still put him way ahead of all the PEA units in my clan. We were able to bring him down to the clan building. He was a member of Impact Clan. They were still salty about us escaping their clutches. I was the main target as the only human in the group during the transfer operation. We slapped him around a bit more before we killed him. His red shirt began to run purple from the blood. I was miffed for several reasons. One was that we were falling behind when it came to the development of our clan's PEA units. Second was that this meant more would be coming to kill me. Third was that this might make it harder for our clan to navigate the next part of the game. There was only one thing I could do. That was to work hard for the clan. I had already done so for the AEP units. This would be no different from that. I went over to the research board to see what I could do. There was quite a bit there. I nodded my head.
