Hi, I'm sorry to hear you are not having fun. I share some of your concerns though I think I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I like to see detailed long sagas with established characters and lots of nice naughty situations that develop naturally rather then get forced (which happens in an awful lot of the branches.) Not many like that sort of thing, there are only three or so story branches and maybe a small handful of authors that do similar stuff and have that discipline. they are harder to write but more worthwhile to me. I like a story... I don't honestly get why some things get attention and others don't, but it's definetly not a measure of quality (otherwise I'd have packed up years ago)
I think you might be a bit too hard on yourself. You have no real idea how many read your stuff... could be many anonymous readers that just don't talk much and don't contribute because they don't want to mess up your art. It could be you are well liked after all.
