One of the Volition Clan AEP units with orange hair came and saw me. He paused and ran up to me. He stopped directly behind me and grabbed me by the shoulders. It was a very tight grip. "See? You can't resist it. Let's play." he said with a malicious smile. He did not want me to escape this time. I looked at him and said "Yes! We have to play. But we'll be on the same side!" I pointed over at the Void AEP and said "He's trying to high handedly micromanage your Volition Clan and we all need to stop him with a game." He looked at the Void Clan AEP and walked over. "Wow! Someone like me!" he said. The Void AEP shoved him back in anger. "I am nothing like you, dirty mutt! I am pure bred." He then looked at me. "I also know about you. You are the cause of these bastardized AEP units." The orange haired AEP unit booed him. "We'll beat you and you'll back off! You can't tell us what to do!" he said. The Void AEP unit actually stamped his foot and said "Yes I can! I was made by the transmission hub's design! You have to listen to us if you want good missions and rewards." That was true.
Now that there was a rivalry between the AEP units, the clan leader looked horrified. I said "Now now. We don't need to take the nuclear option. Let's have a nice friendly game to settle it. Void Clan can send some nice players to join you against us." The Void AEP unit said "No need." He put a hand to his chest and he split into 6. I was shocked. "Wow! That's amazing!" I said. He scoffed, smiling. "Of course it is. This is what it means to be a pure bred." he said. You could not argue with that. I looked at the orange haired AEP unit and said "Let's get the others. You still need to actually teach me how to play." He leaned back in shock. "You were serious!? We have to hurry up then!" he said as he dragged me to the court. The other Volition AEP units clocked me as soon as I stepped on the wooden floor. They swarmed me, but the one dragging me explained everything. They then began to do all the motions in rapid succession and expected me to get it. I blinked. "I do not have a cyborg brain. I'm just a human. You're going to need to explain all the rules with actual words." I told them frankly.
They sped through the rules at rapid pace now. I nodded. I'm sure I got... most of it. I had high stats, so I did not think that I would be too hard pressed trying to keep up with them. In fact, if I put my mind to it, I could probably beat them all with enough practice. The Void AEP unit got on the court and took their clones with them to the opposite side of the net. We would be playing a 3 game set. Each game was 25 points. The 3 AEP units and I were only 4 we needed 2 more to have a full team. Ryder and Sparks both volunteered. "No way, you grunts! This might be a fun game for PBJ Clan, but it will determine the level of autonomy we have going forward. You guys already have your clueless engineer on the court weighing us down." They were both still differential to the wishes of Volition Clan, so they backed out. "I guess you're going to have to have you members join in." I said to him. It only got me a glare. "You really think I'd pass this chance up!? 03452, get out here!" I had heard a bit about him. He was the lowest number aside from the leader and clan engineer of Volition Clan.
Playing with them was very fun. I did not want to step on any toes, so I stayed in my position and did not move around too much. It was a pretty tough on me at the very start. The Void AEP kept targeting me because I was the only human. Their cyborg supremacy strategy only lasted for the first game though. I was the highest leveled being on the court. When I was at the net, I could spike the ball down for easy points. Otherwise, I sent it over to the Volition Clan members. I wanted them to do most of the work since I was not entirely sure of all the rules. We won the first game 25-19. The next game was way harder. He was using all sorts of dirty tricks. One clone would just disappear and reappear in front of the ball. None of us could do that. The Volition clan leader had a grim look on his face. We lost 20-25. This was the deciding game. I looked at the AEP units on our side. "The Void AEP is using his powers to cheat. We'll have to fight fire with fire. If you can think of a way to use your organs to help us win this match- without injuring the enemy- this is the time for it." I said in a huddle.
