Turning to Chad, I said "Here's the money." He looked at me through bleary eyes. I had no clue if he could even hear me. "You need to pay for it. You're going to have to get to the lab on your own. Don't feel too proud to call for backup if you need it." He just nodded his head at me as he swayed on his feet. "Thanks. I will do my best." I facepalmed. "Is this okay?" I asked myself. "Probably." I heard from besides me. i then turned to the AEP unit and walked with him out of the restaurant. He was smiling. I just followed him. I gave him a couple of blocks before I decided to ask him where we were going. He looked at me and said "I have a hotel room. We can talk. Let's go there now." It was a bit suspicious. I just stopped and looked at him. He stopped as well. "What's wrong?" he asked. His black crop top ruffled in the breeze. "What does an AEP unit want with me? Especially in a closed off hotel room?" He flinched and looked shocked. "How do you know!?" he demanded. I just pointed at him. "I was there during the operation at Location C. I am also the engineer for my clan." I told him.
He hissed in anger. "I knew exactly what you were when you walked up to me with your hair and eyes." The cyborg then covered his eyes and then let it go. It was now blue and his hair changed color form pink to black. He smirked and said "Is this better for you now? I hope you like it." I shrugged. "You look like a normal edgy human teenager now. So that's good." I told him. He seemed to bristle at that. "Hey! Don't call me that." he said. "What's wrong with a person being human? Edgy teen might have been a bit far though." I teased lightly. Menacing intent radiated from him. I forgot that they were normally hostile on sight to humans. I took a step back and raised my arms placatingly. "We don't need to fight here. You said we were going to talk it over in the hotel. If that's the plan, I don't mind following you and being quiet." He sneered and said "I bet you would, human. Too late! I'm going to get things started." he said as he took his backpack off his shoulders. He opened the bag and pulled out a glock and a thick ziptie. "We're doing this the hard way. You don't have a choice." he said.
Guns pointed at me still made me flinch. Even though they probably would not kill me. I just looked at him and said "Listen. You don't want to do this. You don't want to make a big enemy out of my clan, do you!?" I just wanted to reason with him. He hesitated before lowering the gun. The AEP unit said "I don't care what anyone says, human. If you insult me one more time, I am going to shoot you." I nodded my head. "Understand me?" he demanded loudly. He wanted a verbal response. "I'll be quiet now. I don't want a fight either. Just stop being so scary." I told him. He walked over me and smirked. "You should be scared. I'm strong and better than you." he told me in a very gloating way. He was enjoying the power trip. He smiled and took my hand. I thought it was cute. They were still very young creatures. He took me to his room on the third floor. Once he closed the door, he offered me the bed to sit. I decided to do that. As it was a good thing to figure out what was really going on, that was what I wanted to focus on. "So, what did you guys want to talk about?" I asked. I decided to listen.
