In the morning, he got up, showered, found that there was nothing in his fridge, and was wondering what to do when there was a knock at the door. He opened it, revealing Zoe...Georgia. Studying her, he could see some signs she was older than 15, if he hadn't by how mature she'd acted yesterday. It was hard, having memories of his sister for his entire life, and seeing this person who looked just like her. But he actually liked Georgia. She treated him like a friend...or a little brother.
"Are you ready to go?" She asked.
"As ready as I'll ever be."
"Still nervous?" She said as they headed out of the building. "You have been great all week. You really have gotten the character down."
"You mean average kid who finds magic stone and gets into trouble?"
"Mathew promised all of us it wasn't just about the magic...he wants the audience to care about the characters. It is just early days, that's all."
Matthew...obviously someone behind the camera. Writer, director, producer...he'd have to find out. "I guess."
"You got this role," she said, unlocking the car door, "because you are your character. You have the same traits as the character. Matthew even changed the name to Jon after he cast you."
She didn't know how true that was.
"How about you...are you...Zoe?"
"Well, I haven't quite gotten to know her yet. But when reading her backstory: Middle child, creative....with something of a temper...But, so far, she just seems to play as someone your character would wish out of his life."
He paused. "That's not how...I mean, that's not how I'm imagining it. Just because your family drives you crazy doesn't mean you don't love them, right?"
"Exactly...if only I saw something in the script that showed that...I mean...that they are family. I'm not expecting Shakespeare, but..."
"You've done Shakespeare? I mean...professionally?"
"Yes, Jonathan..." she said, with a hint of Zoe-like sarcasm, although mixed with a playful maturity his sister lacked, "All Brits are classically trained Shakespearean actors. And we all know each other. Dame Judi Dench and I have tea every other Sunday." She laughed. "My mum took me to audition for a commercial...and I was very good at that for a while. I moved to television and movie roles...never top billing, but the work was good. So, when I was older, I decided to take a chance in California. And I've worked steadily, thankfully. I'm not famous, but I have casting directors who think of me for parts."
They pulled up to the studio, and Georgia showed her ID, and parked in the spot she'd been in yesterday.
As soon as they entered, Sarah McMillan hurried up to them. Sarah was as beautiful as ever but she was dressed far differently from the preppy head cheerleader he was familiar with. She was wearing a dark blue hoodie with a rainbow on the front, and sienna knit corduroy high waisted pants, along with low heeled brown boots, and a pair of glasses perched on her nose. The clothes were nice, but much more understated than what she normally wore. Of course, that was because this wasn't Sarah, it was someone else he didn't know. She gave a wide smile. "Jonathan...we have the confrontation scene today, and they just showed up with a last minute rewrite...and I'm so nervous. I really need your help getting a handle on it."
"Good morning to you as well, Lauren," Georgia said, with an amused look.
Sarah...Lauren seemed to notice her. "Oh, I'm sorry, Georgia...I was just so focused."
"Well, I was going to grab something from craft services before I got into makeup," she said. "So, I will excuse myself...good luck with your...extra rehearsal."
"I'm a bit hungry too...I have nothing in my fridge."
Georgia shook her head. "Honestly, Jonathan...you have barely unpacked, you haven't bought any food..." She made a noise.
"How about I come with you...we can talk while you eat?" Lauren said.
Jon looked at her. "Sure..." he said, curious about her. And besides, he was stuck here for now.
