Through the darkness of pre-dawn, through the silence of Jon's roon, Weird Al's voice cut like a knife. "A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far away"

Jon jerked awake, snorting as a snore caught in his throat, and shot his hand towards his nightstand.

"Naboo was under attack. And I thought me and Qui-gon--"

Jon's hand managed to find his cell phone and pick it up, silencing the song-cum-ringtone.

In a raspy voice, Jon said, "Hello?"

"Jon?" Karyn said from the other end, "Did I wake you up?"

Jon cleared his throat a bit and looked over at his clock: 5:21. "No, no," he said sarcastically, "I'm always up at five o'clock in the morning."

"Sorry, Jon," Karyn said, some desperation in her voice. "I'm just really worried about this dream I had. I think it had something to do with the stone."

Jon's eyes shot open: he was awake now. Had Karyn figured everything out? "What do you mean?"

"I don't know, I can't remember all of it. But there was this girl there... do you have a cousin named Jen?"

Jon exhaled in relief. Just a random dream. "No, I don't. Why is that so important?"

"Because," Karyn said, "she was friends with you, and friends with me, and friends with, with Sarah."

Now Jon was confused. He'd have to look at the video later. "I dunno, it just sounds like a random dream to me. Why do you think it has to do with the stone?"

"I dunno," Karyn said, "but it definitely wasn't a normal dream. I know this sounds crazy, but I feel like the dream had some sort of agenda."

"Look, just calm down," Jon said. "There's like an hour before you usually wake up. See if you can get back to sleep, and we'll talk on the way to school."

"I don't think I can get back to sleep."

Jon sighed, "I can use the stone to help you sleep. Would that be alright?"

"Yeah, I guess. G'night, Jon."

"G'night, Karyn."

As Jon pulled the handset away from his ear, he heard Karyn's voice faintly say "Wait a sec, we never had a teacher named Mrs. Atlee," but then he clicked the phone off.

Jon opened the drawer to his nightstand and pulled out the rock, saying "I wish Karyn would go into a calm sleep, have one dream, and wake up refreshed and relaxed when her alarm goes off at 6:30." Then Jon put the rock away, said Karyn's name, and counted sheep.
